Old folks home - would you?

Recommended Posts

Since all of us are old have you ever considered this?

What if your kids want to put you in a retirement community ?

Assuming it's decent and not some sh1t hole would you do it?

The idea doesn't make me as upset as my wife. But I spend a lot of time in hotels. However the idea of someone cleaning up after me etc etc isn't a bad concept.

Plus medical care right there immediately and with Viagra lots of horny old ladies.

Would you consider it?

I'd rather go to a retirement community. Personal house, drive golf carts around everywhere, community center for hanging out, etc. Won't ever go to a nursing home

That thought of nursing home sex has never crossed my mind but I wonder now how often that happens. I bet by the time it's our turn we will look forward to the nursing home and refer to it as the den of sexxxy time.

Not only would I do it, I'm looking forward to it. I am imagining being able to put together a golf group, a poker group, etc. Fun old man stuff. Can't wait.

I have a friend who worked in the state Health department. He said that with the advent of viagra, they have seen a big problem with std's in nursing homes.

As one who's spent a lot of time in an Assisted Living facility, if you're a dude, you're outnumbered by like 18 to 1.

If you can get it up, most of the bitties aren't able to run away - or remember.

Basically, it's like being Cosby 'til you die.

This is true.

Most nursing homes are pretty depressing, though they aren't all bad. But most people don't end up there by choice. Retirement homes/assisted living communities are very expensive; unless you are fabulously wealthy, you're going wherever your family punts you once your care becomes unbearable.

Viagra and hookers of course. I mean you could bang the bridge club, but why?

I figure if I make it that old, I'll try all the drugs I was too smart not to when young. Heroin? Sure. LSD? Sure. X? Sure.

Presently $6,000 a month for 508 square feet without a kitchen. $10 an hour help. Mostly burned-out waitresses from Applebees. Food slightly above institutional a little bit of variety. That's if you're fairly high functioning.

Suck being a doctor or a lawyer or an engineer. Build yourself a 20 room compound with a Central Kitchen and you are set for the rest of your life.

I'm going to do the 100+ mph into a bridge abutment with the car loaded up with gas cans and a lit road flare.

First rule of killing yourself is don't make your last act something that f**** up everybody else's day.

In this case, you'd be the guy who f***** up traffic. And then maybe have to hire Engineers to inspect the concrete for the bridge abutment yadda..

I'd do it on back road where it wouldn't make that much difference (i.e. not fock with too many folks).

Engineers need job security.

Honestly, I think it'd make for a pretty good character facet in say,

a John Cusack movie.

Sort of like how Saul/Bob Odenkirk interracts with his clients.

Honestly, the only downside I'd see is the whole 'half-way house' aspect.

1) Gotta be in by a certain time every night.

2) No 'guests'

Perhaps that's negotiable.

But, no negotiating the smell. Geesus. WTF is that?

And, no way I could watch some of these people eat.

I went for a few 'holiday meals' - and literally damn near gagged

by catching a few of them in action.

Fock, birds of prey vomiting half-digested rodent into their chick's mouths are less disgusting.

Note to self: Eat in room. Breathe through Mouth. Have separate entry/exit.
