1st yr. Keeper Commish needs some help

    3 first year.
  2. 1st yr. keeper. where you if you keep L.T. you lose your first the following year, etc. Question is, what if I make a two-for-one trade, etc. and acquire Tom Brady, then what? Should each team only be allowed to keep one first rounder, one second, etc.? Thanks for the help on this fellas, it's my first go-round as a keeper commish and I want to get this thing started off right.
  3. No $...and in the keeper baseball league I'm in with the core group of these guys, probably the best league I've been in, money or otherwise. Great guys who are extremely serious about their fantasy sports. Most leagues if you attach a dollar sign it insures most guys will pay attention for the greater part of the year, the baseball league is different, and this one will be as well. If you're profile/I.D.'s check out as being a legit, seasoned manager, I'll let you in...otherwise this may not be the league for you. Thanks for your interest. Chad
  4. In need of a few SERIOUS managers for a start-up 12 team h2h keeper league. The managers already signed up are from a very successful (and serious) keeper baseball league, so we want quality guys. The draft is set for Sept. 1st @ 4:30 Eastern. http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/leagueoffice?leagueId=413427 *below is the league letter I sent out w/ scoring details, etc. I have the Fantasy Football Keeper League set up and ready to roll. This is how it will work, you can keep up to 3 players (keepers) per year. With each player you keep, you will lose a draft pick the following year. Example: I am keeping Brian Westbrook and Drew Brees. Next year I will not get a first and second round pick. #2: I decide to only keep L.T. That would mean I lose my first round pick only in next years draft and will begin drafting in the second round. Pretty easy to understand, eh. Let me know if you have any questions about anything above. We may tweak this a little in the future, but this is a very easy and solid method for a first year keeper. I made a few tweaks to the scoring system. Passing TD's are worth 5 points instead of 4. Receptions are worth one-half point (.5). I like having receptions worth a little something, but PPR leagues giving a full point seems a bit excessive IMHO. A few other very small variations is 1 point per 25 return yards. Forced fumbles get one-half (.5) point, while recovered fumbles still get the standard 2. If you feel very strongly about something in the scoring breakdown, let me know and we'll discuss it. One thing I am unsure of and totally at the mercy of you guys is the waiver priority issue. Would you rather have it standard, where you keep the same spot (unless you are moving up) until you use it, OR, would you like to have the order reset every Tuesday to inverse order in the standings? I currently have it set as the latter, because I think it would really promote a more balanced league, but let me know if you feel differently.

    Are you playing Lamont?

Absolutely...I think Green will have a quality day, and Lewis....well, I hate him, to the point it could require some counseling. Lamont is having a great year and I think it continues in a big way today, especially in a PPR league. Just my $.02

    Bruce/Balt. for Evans/Jags

I need help at WR, and after this week Evans should really turn it around IMO. That aspect is a no-brainer, as Bruce has a decent rank because of one game that likely won't repeat itself. I love Lee...my hesitation lies with the defense. Baltimore hasn't been spectacular as of yet, but does their scoring (fantasy point wise) potential dominance outweigh Lee's potential? Thanks fellas.
  7. Given the uncertainty of Cutler, and Westbrook living on the 'game-time decision' list, is this a no-brainer? Was offered: Gore and Hasselbeck for Cutler, Westbrook and Brandon Marshall. Scoring: Passing: 6-TD Pass, 1 pt./20 yds., 300 and 400 yard bonuses. Rushing: 1 pt./20 yds., 100 & 200 yd. bonus, 50 yd. TD bonus Receiving: 1 pt. per reception, 1 pt./20 yds., 50 yd. TD bonus My line-up: QB: Cutler RB: Westbrook RB: L. Jordan WR: Driver WR: Coles WR: L. Evans Bench: Engram McGahee V.Jackson D.Henderson B.Marshall T.Green Brandon Jones D.Wynn
  8. League Page Keeping 3; Franchise, keeper, rookie. Next year I am transitioning to a VERY low dollar money league, maybe 20 beans per manager. I have a group of very good managers who are very serious and active, so it should be a great league for many years to come. Leave email...first invite to be accepted is in. Importing rankings-additional ?'s Mike

Sorry if I was confusing you Mike, I sincerely appreciate your help. Hopefully this will be the last time you need to assist me on this matter. Ok, I've found that just creating a new manual (projections) separately is the easiest. So when you said, "as you label the columns correctly, plus the start and end rows", what exactly do I need to name them? I am currently doing QB's and am using; completions, attempts, yards, td's, int., rush attempts, rush yards, rush td's, total fantasy points. Do I need to have these categories/columns labeled exact to those on the compiler or what? And then rename the tab 'QB raw'? Hope my inquiry made sense??? I just want to be sure I'm doing this right before I do larger groups like RB's and WR's. Thanks again for the time Mike, Honk

    Importing rankings-additional ?'s Mike

Yeah, there was one, but I deleted it because I thought I'd better read the tutorial all the way through in case it was at the end, etc. Ok, ESPN's rankings are provided through the Insider package, so I am unable to directly download using the URL, and CBS has their ranks all on one page, so I'd have to copy and paste off both sites. If I copy the rankings directly, do I need to delete all the rankings currently in the 'QB raw' (for example), then paste in the furthermost up and left box (B9)? Then I proceed w/ the tutorial on step #4? Do I have to go through all of those steps simply to import QB rankings in order to put a % to their input value in conjunction w/ FFT's ranks? So do I need to do QB's, then go through all the steps, then RB's and the steps, then WR's, etc.etc.? If so, I may have to just trust FFT's ranks and simply add notes. Hope this made sense. Honk

    Importing rankings-additional ?'s Mike

Hey Mike, I'm having issues importing rankings....how do I manually type them in to the compiler then? I tried linking the webpage, but that didn't work as it was questioning my internet connection (which is not even possible..I think error 1004 or something), then I tried control-C and pasting the rankings, but that just seemingly put the list of 100 QB's in one square (sorry, not an excel man at all..not sure if that's appropriate 'lingo'???), when I attempted to put it in B-9. So I am attempting to paste the rankings in the uppermost and to the left position possible just inside the gray border, not on top of Peyton, correct? In any case, if I'm completely confused, I'll just type in the rankings manually, no biggie. How do i do that in the compiler? Another question, if I'm in a start-up PPR keeper league, do I need to put in standard rankings and the compiler will combine my submitted ranks w/ your ranks and project what would be the best players/keepers at each position adjusting for the PPR, or do I need to submit rankings already tweaked for the PPR and keeper? Thanks, Honk

    Rook question- multiple teams-profile name

Thanks brother, I had a feeling it was gonna be simple...I was only to my second team, so I didn't realize you could edit them so easily. Appreciate the time, Honk
  14. I hope this doesn't sound as dumb as I think it does... Let's say I'm in 10 different leagues, how do I go about programing all 10 of those teams when the drop down only offers two 'general' leagues and the rest flex, etc.? If I drop to 'league one' and put in 'Tigers' in the 'profile name', then save it, does that mean I can open it up again under league one and configure completely different settings under 'league 1' as long as I save it under a different 'profile name?? That would seem to be a very easy 'yes' to my question, but I just want to be sure. Thanks, Honk

    Importing rankings-additional ?'s Mike

I'm pretty sure I read how to do this at some point, but now I can't find it??? How do I import other sites rankings? Can you use the big dogs like ESPN and CBS? Thanks, Honk
