I am in a 14 team league. I got stuck with the 14th pick. Even though it snakes around, I still did not like it. What kind of advice would you give? How do you think it looks? My team is at the bottom. (of course)

I dont think it is a bad draft for 14/14.

 

First two picks are Solid RBs. I am of the opinion that the difference between Manning and Hasselbeck will be ALOT closer than people realize.

 

Then your draft gets interesting.

 

I think there should have been MORE picks like Matt Jones and Stallworth : WRs with the potential to be in the Top 15 by years end. I would have picked both Antonio Bryant & Ernest Wilford instead of Caronlina and V Davis for SURE - and definetly before Plax who is a low WR2 at best.

 

In a 14 team league, you need some lucky bounces - but the key is giving yourself ENOUGH opportunity to have a good chance.

 

I would have preferred to see pick #4 as Houshmandzadeh (or Chester Taylor/Addai) followed by picks like Matt Jones, Stallworth, Antonio Bryant & Ernest Wilford for the next few in a row.

Late in the draft it is about UPSIDE.

 

Always draft for VALUE. Just because a DEF will outscore other players picked they still will "only" score AT MOST 1 point per game more than a DEF 3 picks down. That is not a significant enough disparity to warrent taking them that early.
