gobuckeyes 0 Posted August 24, 2006 I tried to do as much research as possible prior. Had the #2 pick in the draft. QBs Bulger, Leftwich RBs LT, Fast Willie, Mike Bell, Thomas Jones WRs Chad Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Rod Smith TEs Tony Gonzalez, Ben Watson DSTs Seahawks, GB (auto last pick) K David Akers Started out with LT, then when it got to my 2nd pick all the RBs left were what I considered "sleepers" so I figured I'd get the best recieving tandem in the league. There was a rush on defenses in the 4th so I picked up Seatle a little higher than I planned, but they were really the only decent one left. Drafted Bulger 5th and got Gonzalez in the 6th when everyone else apparently forgot about him.
Me_2006 14 Posted August 24, 2006 Not too bad. How many do you start? Scoring rules? etc? Need to let us know that so we'll know how to evaluate the team.
gobuckeyes 0 Posted August 24, 2006 I'm in a NFL.com league. 1qb, 2rbs, 2wrs, 1te, 1def, 1kicker. No points for receptions, just 1 pt per rushing/rec yard, 1pt/25 passing yrds, 6 pts per touchdown, etc.

So let me get this straight, your draft went like this? 1-LT,2-Chad Johnson, 3-Larry Fitzgerald, 4-FWP, 5-Bulger, 6-Tony Gonzalez, when was that reach for the Seatle DEF ??, Maybe you can complete the order of your draft. Looks like no larger than a 10 team league ....maybe an 8 team league?
Me_2006 14 Posted August 24, 2006 That's not really that crazy a spot to get the two WR's. I think you'd have been MUCH better off to take another top RB or WR or even Gates or whatever was on the board on the D-run. A little advice for next time: DONT get caught up in runs, and you can always get a kicker or Defense off the waiver wire, so let people waste their draft picks on the Bears and Rackers while you take sleeper WR's and breakout RB's. You also really only need one TE and DEF, so drop Watson and GB and get someone off waivers if you need a bye-week filler or something. I still say its definitely not bad for a first draft, good luck with your league.
gobuckeyes 0 Posted August 24, 2006 no it was a 12 team leage, I think a few people were in it just for fun though. quite a few qbs in the first round. I was the last person to draft a qb, but I had decided at that point I was ok with it. the rest of the draft was Bell, Smith, Leftwich, Akers, Jones, Watson, GB. Like I said, several defenses got picked rnd 4 and I thought it was probably my last shot at getting a good defense. The league only lets you keep 7 total rbs and wrs, so when I tried to draft Michael Clayton at 14 it didnt work and the think auto drafted GB for me.
laxdad57 2 Posted August 24, 2006 So it's a 12 team draft that went like this for you: 2 - LT 23 - Chad ADP -18 26 - Fitz ADP - 19 47 - DEF *** DUMB 50 - FWP ADP - 26 71 - Bulger ADP - 68 74 - Gonzo ADP - 56 95 - M Bell ADP - 64 98 - Rod ADP - 71 119 - Lefty ADP - 128 122 - Akers *** DUMB 143 - T Jones *** ADP - 57 146 - Ben 167 - GB Wow good for you....I guess. Don't really get the dumb picks mixed in the super picks. Is everyone else in this league a moron but you or is there more than just you beating up on the little sisters of the blind.
