RB stacking?

Recommended Posts

So, last year was my first year in FF, and I noticed a few things. First off, I seemed to find some newcomer or sleeper WR pretty easy. Secondly, my QBs produced fairly consistently for me. Thirdly, the RB position can be a killer if you don't get enough solid backs to fill your position (See Willie Parker and Corey Dillon last year). So this year, I decided to hoard RBs a bit, perhaps to find a good backup, and if I get a standout, to use as trade bait.

To start out with, I haven't really gimped my team, as I have Larry Johnson and Cadillac Williams as my starters, and for my WRs I have Chris Chambers, Plaxico Burress, and D. Jackson, as well as Drew Bledsoe/Jake Plummer as my starting QB. In the later rounds, as well as waivers once the draft was over, I picked up Corey Dillon, Chris Brown/Deshaun Foster (differs based on the league), and then picked up Mike Bell, Frank Gore, and Jamal Lewis after the draft.

This leaves me with 1-2 WR backups, 1 QB backup, and no TE backups (I have Heath Miller/Randy McMichael as my starting TEs in the leagues though). Do you think this is a decent strategy, holding onto a few RBs in situations where they might stand out as the consensus #1 back and put up decent numbers? Or should I drop them and get backup players in other positions?

RB's get hurt. You can't have enough of them.

I have 6 on my roster with the intention of trading 1 or 2.
