There is the album version which is better imo.

That whole album is incredible btw. If you dont know Grace, by Jeff Buckley, do yourself a favor and give it a spin, if you like that sort of thing.

I always felt that Hallelujah was one of those songs that we were all supposed to be amazed by because some critics said so. Sort of like when the media tries to tell us a chick is hot when she's not. It's not horrible or anything, but it's not worthy of the hype IMO.

Personally I love the song BUT give me Rufus Wainwright's version from the soundtrack of Shrek.

I know it would be a royal pain in the ass but, how cool would it be if the official draft list was a link to the song.

Fock it, Im going rap to start this off. And this was the best one from the 90s IMO.

1.15 Nuthin But A G Thang - Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg

Great pick, on my short pick of rap for the decade.

I first heard it when they used it in the west wing, and frantically scanned the credits to find the name of the song.

I love the mix between religious and sexual imagery. I think its beautiful.

But to each their own of course.

If I recall from your age you were in middle/high school for most of the decade, so... hopefully she taught you well #youtoo.

Was perfectly used in that scene too.

May have been my first intro to that song.

Sorry, I had a work thing to attend to. When I hold the draft hostage for 12 hours at a time multiple times like you did, we can talk.

My take, from a hack musician standpoint:

Its amazing partially because the rhythm and melody are very simple. This allows Buckley to sing those amazing lyrics with a level of emotion rarely seen in music.

Added the video for my pick. By the way, to keep things clean it would be a good idea to remove videos from replies.

2nd round and we already have a cover tune. Otis Redding put this out in 68. 22 years later, The Black Crowes rocked the sh!t out of it.

2.02 Hard to Handle - The Black Crowes
