Number of players on Overall tab

Recommended Posts

My apologies if this is answered somewhere, but a forum search on the word 'overall' came up blank.

Anyway, I've setup the '1. rules' tab to reflect that we've got 10 players and 18 rounds for our keeper league. This works well throughout the document, yet for some reason the 'overall' tab only populates with the top 150 players. Shouldn't it go to 180 players based on settings on the '1. rules' tab? If anything, I'd prefer to see it go even higher than that. I see that there's space to go as high as 240. What am I missing to get 'overall' to list more than 150 players?

Hi Cretins. Interesting looking helmet avatar.

By default, I have options set to exclude K and DEF from the overall rankings, so this is the likely cause of the difference between the 150 you're getting, and the 180 you were expecting (at a minimum). Those options are found on the rules tab if you want to change them, but it won't add any additional QB, RB, WR or TE.

As for extending the overall list, the math doesn't really work out to extend the overall list. As far as Draft Buddy is concerned, there are enough players there to fill your league based on the settings. Beyond that, it doesn't know if a RB or TE or any position is more valuable than another. However, keep in mind that the offense tab, positional cheat sheet, always fills completely, so you will have in excess of 240 players there. Late in the draft, we tend to draft based on position anyway, so I think you will find that more useful than the overall rankings at that stage.

Thanks Mike. This is my 7th year using DB, and the first time I actually thought to post the question. That all makes sense. As for your recommendation about using the other tabs, that's exactly what I do! Just checking if there was something else I was missing.

Thanks for all the hard work on the spreadsheet, Mike. It makes draft day so much easier!
