DonS 3,063 Posted November 12, 2018 Finally had the follow up PET scan to check my throat cancer. Treatment finished over 3 months ago but they needed to wait to make sure all the inflammation would be gone prior to the scan. PET scan came back clean!!! What a long focking sh1tty summer that was. Here's hoping 2019 is much better.

DonS 3,063 Posted November 13, 2018 Hah! Thanks everyone. While I appreciate the warm thoughts of homosexual acceptance, my cancer was 100% hetero HPV-16 related from munching box. PSA time: for the geeks that have young children with their supermodel wives, please make sure and get your SONS vaccinated along with your daughters. Were you able to narrow down who gave you the HPV? Did she end up getting cervical cancer? (If it is your wife you can just say it was a college fling to protect her identity) Are there any tests that can be done if we know for a fact we have munched on HPV box? Or better yet, any preventative measures. Did you have any symptoms? How was it discovered?
DonS 3,063 Posted November 13, 2018 Were you able to narrow down who gave you the HPV? Did she end up getting cervical cancer? (If it is your wife you can just say it was a college fling to protect her identity) Are there any tests that can be done if we know for a fact we have munched on HPV box? Or better yet, any preventative measures. Did you have any symptoms? How was it discovered? That was the hardest part, as if I had gotten cancer from cheating on my wife then I would accept it as deserving it. In reality I've been married and faithful for 24 years, plus the 3 years before that before we were married. The hardest part of this entire ordeal was when I just had to ask my wife if she had been faithful as well. Felt like a total focking azzhole even considering it, but she was faithful as well. This muthafocka can remain dormant for decades until one day it just pops up and says TADA, YOU'RE FOCKED! My wife is fine. No issues there. Unfortunately there is no test for it like women have with their pap smears. In my case I was lucky as the tumor formed in my tonsil. One day I noticed in the mirror that it was really swollen. No pain. No trouble breathing or swallowing. No persistent cough. Nothing that comes up when you google "throat cancer". After my regular doc prescribed antibiotics to no avail he referred me to an ENT doc. He took one look and said "yeah, that's probably cancer". He said he sees probably 3 guys a week just like me. Since telling friends I've probably had no less than 5 or 6 of them saying they know or have known other men that have gone through the same thing. But fock it. I'm drinking tonight! Cheers everyone! Edit: also want to add that there are like 100 different strains of HPV. Most people get them and it just works it's way thru your system without you even knowing. Some strains give you warts. The one that give men cancer is HPV-16. Wish I never learned that but now you know.
wiffleball 4,631 Posted November 13, 2018 Different strains of HPV do different things. 16 + 18 I believe are cervical cancer. 6 & 11 are warts. I read recently that they are recommending the doctors skip the pap smear and go right for the HPV test. That's pretty surprising.
