Meh, he might be a puppet of the left, but I think its naive to ignore how much influence the NRA has over politics, even as a member myself (been considering quitting). It started as a group promoting marksmanship and safety. Throughout history, they worked with the government on sensible gun legislation. FDRs Gun Control Act being one example. Now, they just reject and fight tooth and nail over absolutely anything and everything involving guns, no matter how sensible it may or may not be. Obviously they are also one of the biggest GOP donors.
