RedskinFanaticTom 0 Posted August 14, 2006 OK, so I'm new to FF and joining a league with a live draft (points). There are 14 teams total. I got lucky #14... Where should I start? I was thinking of picking up Peyton or another top 5 QB and whatever top RB is left. Any suggestions?
Ron_Mexico 0 Posted August 14, 2006 Sounds like a good plan. I would go with a top QB or even WR (Fitz), and the best available RB. plz see... http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=221194 thanks.
lguero1 4 Posted August 14, 2006 peyton won't be there in a 14 team league. w/ the portis injury, he'll probably move up to 1.10 or 1.09. you are looking at maybe caddy or brown but i doubt that. you could get two tier 1 receivers and go with your chances on RBs in rounds three and four. if you go RB at 14 & 15, you are looking at: McGahee, Willis Davis, Dominick Westbrook, Brian Benson, Cedrick Jones, Kevin Droughns, Reuben Jones, Julius Dunn, Warrick Lewis, Jamal i would wait on a QB until at least round 5. in my 12 team league, i am waiting until round 8. (see my thread on two headed dragons) the receivers you get at 14 & 15 would be: Smith, Steve Holt, Torry Owens, Terrell Harrison, Marvin Johnson, Chad Moss, Randy Fitzgerald, Larry the potential RBs you would get in rounds 3 & 4 would be: Foster, DeShaun Dillon, Corey Taylor, Fred McAllister, Deuce Brown, Chris Gore, Frank Green, Ahman Rhodes, Dominic Addai, Joseph Dayne, Ron Bell, Tatum Bell, Mike i haven't added lee suggs to my RB list because i want to see how he performs in NY first. addai will probabaly go higher than here but i don't like him (for my own fantasy reasons) i love 14 league teams, have fun. look at all of the scenarios. FBH ** 0 Posted August 14, 2006 I would not even look at Peyton in this situation, in a 14 team league, stud RB are like gold and WR are next best. Here is the deal. I want you to think about pure numbers of players available. 1) How many starting QBs are in the NFL = 32, and there are 14 teams so there are 14 starting QB in your league. 2) How many starting WR are there in the NFL = 64, and there are 14 teams in your league each starting at least 2 WR, more likely three, so there are wither 28 or 42 starting WR. 3) How many starting RB are there in the NFL = 32, and there are 14 teams in your league each will start 2 RB which means there are 28 starting RB in your league. Now of the 32 NFL starting RB how many are in non-RBBC situations and get the goal line touches = less than 10. The moral of the story if you have the chance to grab 2 quality RB, you really have to consider it. If not 1 RB and 1 WR, but I would advise against taking Peyton in this situation. It is very difficult to select Peyton at the end of the first round or 1st pick in the second because you have such a long wait until your next pick. It will be very difficult to get decent RB at picks 3.14 and 4.01. I hope that this helps.
k9tofive 0 Posted August 14, 2006 DEFINETLY get THE BEST non-RBBC (which will prob be Ronnie Brown/J Jones in a 14 teamer @ #14) on the board and a TOP WR (Smith/C Johnson/Fitz/Holt). Then in 3rd/4th grab a guy like Dillon/Dunn/C Taylor and a WR like Driver/Boldin/Wayne. Then, its a matter of QB-WR, TE-RB, WR-QB and then use the last 5-6 rounds for flyers/Def/K/backups. I have seen C Taylor fall in ALOT of REAL drafts, so he could be a GREAT find - if he is there for you at 3.14/4.01 TAKE HIM. I would have a CURRENT (as of draft day) depth chart VERY handy - you can prob pick up ALOT of NFL teams' #2 WRs this way while others are scrambling to get the 2nd half of their RBBC.
