stonewall 647 Posted December 18, 2014 May mean that they want to kick the tires on Polk and rest Shady a bit more in case they make the playoffs. May mean that they are thinking of trading Shady next season. May mean that Chip likes his physical running style more than Shady's dancing. May not mean a darn thing. http://www.csnphilly.com/football-philadelphia-eagles/chris-polk-not-lesean-mccoy-begins-practice-eagles-starters
thePRO 78 Posted December 18, 2014 It means NOTHING because they're fight for a playoff spot and they don't have time to make a stupid change like this, this late in the season. That said, Polk looks like he's getting all them goal line carries!!
dcgangstas 41 Posted December 18, 2014 I don't sweat it all that much, but it could mean that Chip's trying to send a message to Shady with regard to stop tap-dancing and just hit the hole hard. With Jason Hatcher and Keenan Robinson unlikely to play for Washington on Saturday, McCoy should still get around 90-100 total yards and possibly a rare TD. Shady didn't make a concerted effort to punch the ball in the end zone when he ran out of bounds at the 1 on Sunday night. Polk's a bruiser and effective in short-yardage, meaning he will get goal-line opportunities. Having said that, Polk is not a long-term answer for Philly because he can't stay healthy. Shady has an $11.5 million cap number for 2015, so the Eagles' brass may put pressure on him to re-structure his contract. given the drop in productivity. He's still the 4th leading rusher in the NFL, even in a down year. . If you're in a TD-only league, by all means start Polk!
