The Week 15 "who are you starting over Mike Evans" thread

Recommended Posts

M Evans has been killing me. I have guys like Goodwin and Dede on my bench while he continues to provide me with 2 or 4 points a week. So with playoff time I'm starting Dede in one league over Evans, and Jordy in another league over Evans.

I'm considering starting Crowder over Evans in another league.

Of course he will probably blow up this week. But my gut says no. No more tolerance to carry him with the playoffs on the line.

Anybody else still riding Evans? If not, who are you starting over him?

I am going to hold out hope for Mike Evans and play him over Dede Westbrook. Also starting Evans over Kerwynn Williams.

I dunno I might have to just go with Evans and hope for the best?

My only other options are (D. Thomas, T. Williams, or R. Woods at WR, or I can flex T. Cohen as RB).

Thomas put up mediocre numbers, like 9.5 points in my 1/2 PPR league, so I might regret not taking the easy points even though they were low.

Williams has had 2 monster games this season, but all his other games have been garbage numbers, with a low number of receiving targets. At least Winston tries to get the ball to Evans.

Woods has been hurt for 3 games in a row and I don't know if he'll even play. Seems like a very high-risk option to me.

Cohen is pretty up and down and doesn't get a high volume of touches.

HA! I have Hunt as my #2 RB (Kamara #1) but am maybe gonna bench him for Ajayi, LAC defense is pretty tough. Playoffs, the decisions get tougher! Good luck!

I would go with Evans over both.

Just feeling Lucky with this decision.

No skill involved.

Just luck.

This is interesting because isn't this what each individual who plays FF fights against within themselves when putting a starting lineup together?

Where does the feeling of being lucky on one specific thing emanate from? And what causes it to occur? I think everyone (some more than others), at least at one point in their FF days, has had a thought like this. I tend to think that the feeling that something is going to happen but is completely unrelated to any employed reason around the subject can be more harmful than helpful as it promotes a perceived information, when in actuality, this can simply act as red herring.

I saw this on CBS thought it was a good read. I will suffer and hope another week with him.

Evans' struggles aren't all his fault. Last week, he was targeted downfield on three straight plays and ran the wrong route on one and saw bad throws from Winston on the other two, though he drew a flag on the third. Winston was also off the mark by just a little on an end-zone target to Evans from 4 yards out. And several passes weren't on point the week before at Green Bay. Somehow, Winston has completed 67 percent of his passes over the last two weeks, but just 33 percent on passes ticketed for Evans. You'd think this is something that can be corrected quickly, but Atlanta's pass defense is healthy and its defensive line should keep constant pressure on Winston given the state of his offensive line. It doesn't mean Evans can't come through for a good game, especially since the Bucs figure to trail for much of the game. Plus it's likely that the team wants to get Evans going. That should mean more targets and a chance at a high-reception result. Evans should remain in lineups despite his cold streak.
