Who would you rather keep?

Recommended Posts

For a $139 budget auction draft...3 keepers.

We start 2QBs, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 WR/RB, 1K and 1 Def

I am keeping:

Caddy at $10

Ronnie Brown at $6

this is the tough part:

Antonio Gates at $15

or

Matt Hasselback at $15

Scoring is

QB's 1 pt per 25 yds

6 pts per passing or rushing TD

TE 1 pt per 10 yds receiving

6 pts per receiving TD

Am I over thinking this and should keep Gates no question about it? Thanks

If TE is a required starter.... I would most certainly keep Gates, Brown and Caddy, nice start of a team for only 31 of those precious 139 bucks.

If TE wasn't a starter, I'd probably just go Brown and Caddy.

Not sold on Hasselbeck for 15 though, think you should be able to buy a better starter for that, and a couple decent backups that could produce like top 10's for probably 1-2 bucks a piece.

Keep Brown, Caddy, Gates.

1) look at their ADP's (Gates 3.03) and Hasselbeck (5.08)

2) Gates is the best at his position HANDS DOWN, Hasselbeck is NOT

3) On any given week you have the cushion of knowing that you will probably gain more points from your TE position than your opponent.

4) There is a lot more quality depth at the QB position than there is at the TE position.

Bottom line if the cost is the same throw Hasselbeck back, and keep Gates.

Definitely agree with the others here. Hang on to Caddy, Brown, and Gates. If you're holding Caddy and Brown for a combined 16 bucks, then Hasselbeck for $15 would be rediculous. The only argument I would make for keeping him, is the "Madden Jinx" and the fact that Hasselbeck may end up throwing the ball around alot after finishing strong last year, and with 6pts for all TD's and defenses keying on stopping Alexander, Hasselbeck could be a solid fantasy QB again this year. But keep Gates, you're basically starting 4 WR's with him in the line up.

I wouldn't gamble my fantasy future on a "Jinx", and even if it happens it won't help Hasselbeck.

I agree. I was just trying to make an argument both ways and give my opinions on how each decision could play out.
