In the past couple years I have steered you toward the most brutal of the rape / revenge pics (I Spit on Your Grave, House on the Edge of the Park, Irreversible), the italian cannibal genre (Cannibal Holocaust, Male Them Die Slowly), Japan exploitation (Audition, Visitor Q) and the new French extreme (Martyrs). I don't know if you've drudged any up but I've at least alerted you to pseudo snuff (Guinea Pig, August Underground) and the 79s porn-horror nasties (Water Power, Forced Entry).

 

The other day on my horror blog the question came up "What was the most disturbing movie you saw this year?" In my older / tamer years I watch a lot of foreign thrillers and mostly stick to non graphic horror so I can't say I've seen a truly disturbing movie since Kill List over a year ago, but one member mentioned this film. I was intrigued because I've at least heard of nearly every "extreme" film that gets a release and this was a total blank to me so I looked it up. And after 5 minutes of digging up the very few reviews online I realized this was a film I would never, ever, ever watch. I give you Todd Velow's "Bottom":

Holy fock, this seems insane. Frank me be right, I have tried to desensitize myself to this homo shtt. Hell, I even enjoyed the hell out of that show "OZ" about the prison crap. I am not sure I could make it far though this though. I might give it a shot though.

 

I am still trying to find many of the movies you have suggested in the past that I desperately want to see. Movies like Guinea Pig and August Underground top that list.

 

I did love many of the ones you listed in the OP. Cannibal Holocaust and I spit on Your Grave were focking incredible. I enjoyed House on the Edge of the Park, Audition, Visitor Q, Kill List and Martyrs very much. Irreversible was worth it just for that one scene, I think everyone that has seen it knows which scene I am referring too.

Do NOT watch this film. While I did get rock hard more than once, I am going to go out on a limb here and say the overwhelming majority of folks will not enjoy this, AT ALL. It was mainly just disgusting. At least I can scratch this off my list now.

I've seen a lot of these movies but I'm not really a fan of the extreme pseudo snuff / rape type movies, I just mention them to Gocolts because I'm pretty knowledgable about what's out there and he seems to like it.

 

The last hard horror movie I really liked was a film called Kill List and that wasn't even close to August Underground or any of the harsh stuff in this thread. Last horror movie I liked was called The Babadook and it was great but had almost no violence.

 

Mostly I like foreign / independent films, suspense / thrillers, martial arts movies and atmospheric type horror or sci-fi. I've seen enough rough horre films to know I have my limits.
