I guess he will find out if there is a God or its just the universe. Send us a digital message Hawking

Big Bang will probably have a good episode based around this

I have more faith in Hawking sending a message from beyond the grave than I do that BBT will ever have a good episode.

Idiocracy in its true sense has begun. Who else in the scientific community is pushing boundarys and theorizing like he was? Im sure they are out there... but no one was synonomous with the universe than he was.

Even though I disagreed with some of the things he said this guy, like you said, pushed boundaries. He proposed, proved, and disproved a lot of things regarding the universe and black holes. The man was a pure genius.

You could argue Musk, but he's more pushing the bounds of engineering and practical science than theoretical science.

Time to find out who was the real genius. Stephen Hawking? Or the talking wheel chair.

Ive believed for a long time that the key to Real Genius is not understanding the incredibly complex, but the ability to make the incredibly complex relatively simple to those who are not nearly as smart as you.

That truly is Stephen Hawkings sign of greatness.

A Brief History of Time so successful not in its ability to capture the most complex Notions of time space and physics, but its ability to make it accessible to so many who other-wise would not come near such topics.

Others had tried, and filled their books with loads of complex equations. Hawking deliberately challenged himself to throw out all the equations, save but one.

It's a poor analogy, but imagine trying to give directions to someone who has never driven before and without using words like left, South, right, North, East, West Etc.

Geniuses far too often try to prove their genius in the complexity of their words. True geniuses care not whether others think that they are geniuses. They care about sharing the simple beauty of the world around them through the language of science.

Willing to wager that, like Galileo and others before him, he and his contribution the understanding of the world and the universe will endure a hundred years from now whereas most of the piddly crap that we debate and discuss days on end will not.

I kind of hope that when Hawking passed away that he walked into an empty room with no God and just look around and went hmm I knew it.

Larry King: "Do you believe in God?"

Hawking: "If by 'God' you mean the laws of physics which drive the universe, then yes."

Translation... "No"
