Chris Johnson and the Cards RB's

Recommended Posts

Arians says CJ will get 15-20 carries this week, even if Ellington is back, but that may be wishful thinking and coach-speak. Still, I think CJ leads the team in carries week in and week out. Personally, I have never been a fan of Ellington to begin with. He's not a 20 carries a game type of back, and I think Arians knows this, which is why he brought in CJ in the first place. To me, Ellington is Gio Bernard in a Cardinal uniform, and is more suited for a complimentary role as the passing back. Arians doesn't seem inclined to give the reigns to DJ anytime soon either, so going forward in the immediate future, I expect 14-17 carries for CJ, 7-10 carries for Ellington, and 4-7 carries for DJ, until Ellington gets hurt again, at which time, DJ would then get a bigger role IMO. It's just a matter of time til Ellington breaks a nail again.

Arians has Always overshot his RB touch projections. sell high on CJ and thank me later. Only way CJ averages 14+ carries going forward is if Ellington gets hurt again and David Johnson makes no strides. He was brought in only when Ellington was hurt, and is not in their plans for the future.

I have a hard time buying CJ. He hasn't really been relevant in years. That being said, he's also been on mostly bad teams, so maybe he's feeling rejuvenated. I still think it will be a RBBC.

CJ should still be the goal line back on a red hot offense. And Ellington won't stay healthy. As crazy as it sounds, I'm buying in on CJ?k.

I believe he wasn't relevant because he was making a boatload of money. He is working for his money again, that drive is back.

I'm buying for now. He's on a team with a great defense that scores points. That will give him plenty of rushing opportunities as they go into kill the clock mode. We all know Ellington is prone to multiple vag infunctions throughout the year.

I did not play CJ last week thinking DJ would be a 50/50 split by last week. I also have Hyde, AP, and Ivory(whom seems to be in his typical injury state). So It makes it s difficult decision whom to throw in week to week. My WRs stink so my Rbs selection makes or breaks my week.

CJ is going up against the Rams, which believe it or not, has a terrible run defense (ranked 23rd worst).

Ellington likely isn't going to supplant CJ entirely. If they're winning Arians will stay with CJ for a good portion of the workload.

CJ isn't as fast as he used to be, but he's still capable of scoring from a screen play or a nice hole in the running game.

I'm a believer, and an owner, so it is what it is.

I don't expect huge numbers from him, but he's good depth with Foster, Ivory and Blount.

I'm starting him this week.

Arians just named CJ the starter even with Ellingtom back. Jackpot.

Report is Ellington will go back to his old role as a change of pace guy. 10-12 touches a game.

CJ2K will get 20 touches including GL carries. I think CJ2K can still be had pretty cheaply if you pull the right strings.

Do you like CJ skinny? I mean for the past few years he has been a ghost of what he was. How did he get good again?

I picked him up and dropped Thomas Rawls. I needed a rb starter for this week with Dion Lewis on bye and he was the best one available.

Ok, you guys, in particular skinny, have talked me into it. I'm dropping Woodie to pick him up and start him this week. I don't like Matt Jones this week against a tough Philly rushing defense and Woodie may be losing touches to the surging Gordon. So CJ2k is my new crush. Here's hoping.

I'm starting CJ over Jeremy Hill. While I can't believe he'd be suddenly back to his old self, I have enough confidence that he'll outscore Hill, at least this week. Which means he'll probably sh!t the bed.
