Anyone dropping D. Adams?

Recommended Posts

I might need to, have a short bench and need a RB, Adams has a high ankle sprain and could be out "several" weeks. :ugh:

I just dropped him. It depends how competitive your league is. There are a lot of mouths to feed in GB and Rodgers didn't miss a beat without him. I have a middle of the road team and can't wait for him to get going. There's no guarantee he will. Plus a high ankle sprain is a longer injury that just a rolled ankle.

Just trying to find a winning lottery ticket discarded in the trash.

Dropped him for Marvin Jones. I saw somewhere that Adams was seen in a walking boot. No thank you.

I just dropped Cruz for Adams.

I drafted Cruz and had hopes for him, but I don't think he will really be himself until next year.

Was thinking Adams was my sleeper in the draft to take me to the playoffs or have some nice trade bait. Should have picked up James Jones as soon as GB picked him up, I had no idea he would impact Adams this much, plus the injury is just icing

I'm holding for now, but I don't have much hope for him moving forward

I also drafted Adams in the 4th in both of my leagues hoping for a breakout year. In my short 5 player bench league I dropped him for Rawls. He has an ankle injury and isn't the 2nd option in the GB passing game like I had hoped. I know it is hard to drop a player that you've invested highly in but sometimes you need to be nimble when it is apparent that your original opinion was wrong.

I thought I struck gold when I had Adams as my WR3. Sadly, Adams was fool's gold and James Jones was the real treasure. I don't want to call Adams an outright bust because he was getting a lot of targets before getting hurt. I just don't think I can drop him right now because I believe the potential is still there. It would help if there was more clarity regarding his injury as he's now in a walking boot but also claiming he doesn't have a high ankle sprain.

With all that said, I've added Ty Montgomery as he'll become the new #3 for as long as Adams is out. I liked him at Stanford and he reminds me a lot of an Anquan Boldin type WR. If Adams misses a few weeks then I'll be perfectly ok with Montgomery taking hold as the #3 and running away with it.

I thought I struck gold with him as my WR2. I just dropped him Tuesday. Have Donte Moncrief who has played better anyway and Martavis Bryant about to come back next week, but that's sunk a bit now with Roethlisberger out. i may pick him back up Sunday morning just in case he blows up but with short benches I don't know if i can.

James Jones will come back to earth very soon. You will see why he was cut by the Raiders and the Giants.

To drop him now would be ludicrous depending on your depth at WR. There was a reason why Shermann / Seattle lined up opposite of Adams instead of Cobb. Adams has freak skills and was just starting to come of age in the pre-season... this is a setback but if he heals up in the next week or two, you'll quickly be reminded why we all drafted him.

This is right. In game one, Adams was THE most targeted WR for the Packers. Then he got hurt in game 2, tried to come back but was decoy, and hurt again in game 3. You drop the guy when you see that when healthy he isn't being used. We haven't seen that yet. If you can hold, you simply have to hold him. Ty Montgomerey isn't gonna steal his spot, and he is simply better than James Jones. Even if Jones gets red zone targets, Adams will still eat. He plays on the best offense for the best QB. Drop him if you want to, but you will hate yourself.

Right. The Giants have a terrible recent track record with WR's. You don't know much about the NFL, do you? There are other teams besides the Green Bay chokers. Familiarize yourself before you set to yap. You won't look as stupid.

Jones is going to have a very good season no matter what anyone else wants to believe , he has a Great qb and he knows the system and Rodgers feels comfortable passing him the ball it was a no brainier picking him up we he sign .

Yes, their track record is great right now isnt it? Oh, and Green Bay's recent track record with WRs is better too.

The freaking dropped one of the guys they kept instead of Jones.

You should stop trying to talk...you are not good at discussing any topic without coming off like an ass.

Looked plenty fast enough in Oakland last year.

Looked plenty fast enough against Sherman 2 weeks ago and against KC this past Monday.

he may come down.

At worst he will be a redzone threat for Rodgers every game.

He just keeps looking at the guy in the endzone and trusts him to make the catch or make sure the defense doesn't catch it.

As a Davante Adams owner this is actually good news as I hope they now sit him and let him fully heal to come back strong and be the guy we thought he could be.

Now, I picked up Ty Montgomery last week as Adams insurance last week in case he couldn't go and he's suddenly gained some value as the new #3 in the Packers offense. What's the news coming out of Green Bay on this kid. Does Rodgers trust him?

Had a nice start last week...but sort of disappeared as Rodgers just kept going to Jones and Cobb late.

Hopefully he keeps the momentum going and not a bad speculative add.

Will be interesting to see where Abbrederis fits in. Rodgers raved about him previously on his smarts and knowing where to be and all.

I could see him doing more than Janis and maybe Janis being the odd man out when Adams gets back.

Think Montgomery will be 3a or 3b with Richard Rodgers while Adams is out.

Not sure any consistency will really come of it though.

You guys are all idiots who want to drop him. Why pick up a weak dude who you may play one week your WR is on a bye. This dude was supposedly the best Packer in training camp/preseason. They raved about him, He is big, tall and talented. Rodgers threw his first 2 passes to Adams last week then he tweeked his bad ankle. Rest him please packers, Let him come back he could easily be what you were all hoping he would be.
