You just look for smoothness, aftertaste etc. yeah.... if i am mixing, i care much less, unless i mix with a little club soda (where i am tasting the vodka). someone mentioned bloody marry's. i am very ok with cheap vodka for those, but will use infused (lime, lime, citrus, pepper) if i have it. A bartender friend of mine introduced me to this and now it's the only way I drink them. i haven't but know that pickle and olive juice can be popular. several of the hotels i have worked at have put blood bars with the breakfast buffets and those have been available.
