Djgb13 2,338 Posted October 24, 2018 Seriously though, I have friends in simpsonville. Used to play a baseball team called the simpsonville silver hawks. Good team but we beat them and went to nationals. Incorporated some of their to help fill gaps so they might know who actually won

WhiteWonder 2,171 Posted October 24, 2018 What was final post tax pay out Probably 600-700 million after any state, federal, gift taxes etc. I think the cash option was 900-
Hardcore troubadour 12,640 Posted October 24, 2018 Obviously, Digby won it. Again? Didn't he already win free money for life for doing nothing? It's the federal lottery. We know it as disability.
WhiteWonder 2,171 Posted October 24, 2018 It should.... With the history of game show and lottery shenanigans, the transparency needs to be there... That's always the excuse. Transparency. Sorry. Bullshit. You can publicize the store the ticket was sold at to prove it's not a sham. The winner should have every right to avoid any nonsense. Pretty sure some guy was murdered a few years ago after his identity and pic with big novelty check wad posted. He got targeted.
Hardcore troubadour 12,640 Posted October 24, 2018 So, South Carolina. Good thing they bought the tickets, because they didn't have any.
Djgb13 2,338 Posted October 24, 2018 Probably 600-700 million after any state, federal, gift taxes etc. I think the cash option was 900-950 Theyve also didnt have to be income tax on it from what I hear. Didnt know SC didnt make them do that
fandandy 3,311 Posted October 24, 2018 Like 906 mill. I just read this. If true, holy crap that would be nice. To put the winning take in context, if the ticketholder accepted the cash-up-front prize and invested the entire sum in Treasury bonds, they would earn roughly $30 million in annual income from the interest alone. Bert 1,091 Posted October 24, 2018 Probably 600-700 million after any state, federal, gift taxes etc. I think the cash option was 900-950 567-599 before SC income tax. Federal rate is 37%

Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted October 24, 2018 Lump sum is $878 before taxes. After Federal tax of 37% and SC state tax of 7%, they will get about $492M. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/24/heres-how-much-the-mega-millions-winner-will-get-to-save-and-spend.html

Mike Honcho 4,030 Posted October 24, 2018 According to Google, the population of Wyoming(least populated state) is 563,626. So it might be possible to negotiate with everyone for 100,000 dollar to leave the state, and you'd have your own state. And that'd be nice.

titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted October 25, 2018 I'm sure there are a few people in the state who scoff at 100k Youd be fine with having those guys around. They wouldnt bother you. Youd need some of the less offs to stay too. Someone needs to do the sh!t you no longer want to do. I would buy an island. Maybe in the Philippines. They have 7,000, only 1/3 are populated. Build me a compound. Pay the staff five times local rates (still be cheap) and house them well so they love me and dont want to lose the gig. Have an airstrip for the gulf stream. Slip for the yacht. Would be a good time.
SenatorRock 708 Posted October 25, 2018 I'm sure there are a few people in the state who scoff at 100k Yeah, Teton is the richest county in America. In other news, I sometimes look at Ranch Porn and could easily spend $100 million on a few ranches in MT, WY, CO, and CA.
