#6292994 5th pick. Gurley/Brown/Bell/Barkley GONE

Posted by scottsind on 25 August 2018 - 09:20 PM

I prefer Johnson.  ;-)

Do you now : )  had to quote this comment for fun...

I would take Zeke over DJ if I had the choice, but both Home Run options.  I actually have DJ in a keeper league and hope he has enough offense around him to succeed.  Dak as a mobile QB I think helps Zeke out a lot.

#6291697 14 team, 4 keeper league...who should I target with the #2 pick?

Royce Freeman I am liking more and more.  Hes more of a help you win a championship type of guy as he may sit on your bench for the first quarter of the season.

Any way you can keep both running backs and not Rivers?  Id rather have two RBs than a QB.

#6285441 Drafted yesterday, should I feel ok about this?

Your team looks like a contender as long as Mixon does what I think he should do this year.  Nice work.

#6284320 Drafted Yesterday - not very pleased

I dig your roster.  Tate is probably more valuable in a PPR league rather than Marvin Jones so you could get a good return on trading either one.  I am in a TD heavy league and Marvin Jones is definitely on my radar.  Your roster is deep everywhere else besides that RB position and you know that so go get a serviceable RB3 for your squad.  Tevin may be able to hold that position as a back up RB in a good offense and if Freeman has concussion problems he is a no doubt starter for the squad.

You may even be able to trade a combo of a WR/QB to a team in need for a real quality RB.

Good luck!

AB on your team is the trump card.  Option 2

I would definitely go Mixon in your situation.
I believe he has RB1 potential and I don't think McKinnon does.
Even if MCKinnon has a better season I don't think it will be monumental and he probably won't be a keeper. He's had his shot over the past couple of seasons and hasn't panned out too much.
Not to say he won't be good in SF but I just don't see the same kind of upside as with Mixon.
If Mixon blows up you will regret if years to come.

Solid reply.  I am happy to hear that my initial thoughts were in the right direction.  I have had way too long to overthink this conundrum.  Appreciate it.

#6265063 Is D. Johnson worth 3 picks?

Posted by scottsind on 14 July 2018 - 09:14 PM

A lot of insight in this thread.  I am going to keep it simple and just say keep DJ.  His potential wins you match ups by himself. Even if Arizona is horrible he will still eat and rack up yardage.  I actually think he and Zeke have the best shots at fantasy MVP this year.

#6237307 #4 Pick (Full PPR)

Posted by scottsind on 05 June 2018 - 09:21 PM

It would be real hard for me to pass on Zeke or DJ, but look at these scenarios.  I am in a standard league, but looking up a couple PPR boards this is what I came up with depending on if you go RB or WR route with your first pick.

Big Board 1

Pick 1 - AB
Pick 2 - McCaffery or Freeman
Pick 3 -  Evans or Hilton
Pick 4 - McKinnon

Pick 1 - Zeke or DJ
Pick 2 - AJ Green
Pick 3 - McKinnon
Pick 4- Jeffery or Cooper

Big Board 2

Pick 1- AB
Pick 2 - Fournette
Pick 3 - McCaffery or McKinnon
Pick 4 - Cooper or Robinson or JuJu

Pick 1 - DJ or Zeke
Pick 2 - Adams or Evans
Pick 3 - McCaffery or McKinnon or Freeman
Pick 4 - Drake or Landry

I am talking big boards right now as a lot will change Im sure in 3 months.  I would take Zeke over DJ as I think the Cowboys have a better team and the threat of Dak running keeps defenses honest.  I have DJ as a keeper also so hopefully my thoughts are incorrect, but I try to stay unbiased.

Out of all of those scenarios I like the teams with Zeke or DJ the best.  Also a common denominator is I would sell out for McKinnon.  I think he is going to be perfect for this format.  Hopefully this helps the thinking process from my perspective.

#6132750 Need Input on Resetting of My Keeper League

Posted by scottsind on 18 January 2018 - 09:05 PM

We keep it really easy and simple.  2 keepers for a 3 year max period.  For instance; if you draft Gurley this year, you have to trade him by the end of your 3rd year with him or he goes back into the pool.

There is no price for a keeper and you have to keep 2 players.  Drafting starts what I will call round 1, but because there are 2 keepers per team you basically are starting from round 3.  Caveat to our drafting system is it goes 1-12, 1-12, 1-12 like the nfl draft and gives an advantage to those teams who didnt make the playoffs the previous year.

In our losers (toilet) bracket we play for draft picks each year so that the league stays somewhat competitive the whole year.

Tried not to get into real specifics but thats our template of a league

Good luck

#6125363 2018 Fantasy Mock Draft

Posted by scottsind on 11 January 2018 - 08:56 AM

Am I taking crazy pills?  Watson being the first QB taken when he hasn't even played a full season yet!  He's not even the best QB let alone worth a second round pick.  I don't see how anyone could take him ahead of a RB like Jordan Howard who proved everyone wrong this year and should be even better with a more offensive minded coach.

There are so many QBs that can be had at any point in a draft that it just seems like a waste of a pick taking one in the first couple rounds, especially an unproven one.  The hype is amazing right now.

Agreed, I understand the hype and he is getting the type of hype that Michael Vick was getting after his extremely impressive fantasy year.  I was young and dumb and drafted Vick in the first round and of course he was injured early in the season.  Not to say Watson will get injured again, I just think it is too risky of a pick to make in the 2nd round.  I'll take Watson if he is there as an upside play in the 4th round, but don't imagine taking a QB until at least the 5th.

#6123671 Simple Question

Hopkins is the best player out of this whole group, but option B is the best combo of players.  There is no way to mix and match Hopkins in with any option B players?

#6114334 Keepers for next year - need 3 of these 4...

Posted by scottsind on 26 December 2017 - 12:30 PM

I think it depends on what is valued more in the league.  I have never done an auction draft but it seems like the logical way of deciding this is if you want both for next year who is going to cost more during an auction to redraft and who will be coveted more?  Maybe after saying that I tend to lean more towards keeping Engram as there are more viable QB options to choose from than TEs.  You also have to consider who will be throwing to Engram so I am sure you will be paying attention in the offseason.

#6112200 Joe Mixon

Posted by scottsind on 22 December 2017 - 02:19 PM

Hey paws.....let me see if you pick my two. You and I think alike....

Pick 2: Drake, Lewis, mixon, Hunt

Hunt and Drake definitely.  Williams is ruled out so Drake should see 20+ touches again no doubt.  Lewis is a good play also, but too much upside for Hunt and Drake to ignore.

#6111533 Week 16 defenses

Posted by scottsind on 21 December 2017 - 06:26 PM

I have the Vikings def but the Chief are siting on the ww.  Miami has basically been fantasy gold for most all def this season.

I think it would be silly to play the chiefs over the Vikings.  Packers are down most of their weapons now with Adams and Rodgers out.  There is always a possibility of a pick 6 from Cutty, but I think you can say the same thing about Hundley with his inexperience.  Vikings are an elite defense.
