Tom Brady greatness stat of the week

Recommended Posts

Too bad Coughlin got sh!t-canned after three consecutive losing seasons in the suck-ass NFC East. This was after two consecutive 9-7 seasons, which were two of his six [airquote]winning[/airquote] seasons in 12 years with the Giants. I mean it was a neat party-trick how he got his very talented and constantly under-performing team to occasionally show up for big games, it's just too bad he was never able to establish the consistent high-level of performance like the great coaches do.

Tilt. 18-1

3-13

Temporary. Will be forgotten about when training camp starts. 18-1? That's forever.

So is five Superbowls and counting. We get it, you have to live in the past. Not much alternative at this point. But buck up little camper, maybe your team will go 4-12 next year.

Just a short decade ago. You're practically a Dolphins fan at this point. :(

The diamonds in the Patriots' latest Super Bowl rings were still coal the last time the Giants were relevant.

Now what could a Dolphins fan possibly say to a Pats fan? Hmmmm, oh yeah! They're the only undefeated team, thanks to the Giants. You're welcome Mr. Csonka!

hey look! HT has the most posts in a Patriots thread again!

RMFF!

Who else could go at it with you guys? You can't expect us to genuflect, do you? It's not like the Pats are the Yankees. Who all must bow down in front of. And when they don't, I don't get all butt hurt about it. Confident.

You guys think TB ever got a BJ from a chick, her mom, and her sister? Now THAT would be impressive. It takes a special guy to achieve that milestone.

I have little doubt that he could do that if he wanted to. They would be better than 6's too.

Pays to be in the AFC east.

In the last 12 years, regular season in playoffs combined:

Brady vs the AFC: 120-30 .800

vs AFC East 52-13 .800

vs rest of AFC 68-17 .800

Their "rest of AFC schedule" includes 3 1st place teams and typically 2 playoff games against the best AFC teams. So, much for their record being boosted by AFC East opponents.

1-3 vs the NFC east in the SB. Enjoy #6. It's a lock. Congratulations

If you dont understand the greatness of what the Pats have done this century you are clueless about the NFL. It is fitting that you are missing it. This is happening in the salary cap era, nothing in any sport can compare to it.

Then I will take the Celtics winning 8 straight and 11 of 13.

And you will win. I think the Canadiens have something similar in hockey

All different eras with less player movement and fewer teams. In todays NFL, with a hard cap, the Patriots run is crazy. They also have the most wins in the 2000s and the 2010s and it isnt close.

A hard cap and free agency. Let's not forget that. Plus the discount TB has been giving them. Most players aren't born rich and then marry rich like him and in a posistion to do that. And beating up on the dysfunctional Dolphins, jets and bills twice a year is nice to have as well.

Free agency doesnt help the Patriots maintain their standing. It hurts it because they lose guys left and right.

Your theory on the AFC East was debunked earlier today as well.

So there was a brag about an 800 winning pct when they get to play three of the worst teams twice a year? And FA gives and takes away. Go ahead and name the big players the Pats lost. I'll name a few they brought in, plus some salary dumps they brought in. I'll win that one. Practically every running back they've had.

6 games a year against the perennial dregs of the NFL, plus two more against last place teams. That's half the schedule.

Not worth rehashing again while I am on my phone, but this article has the details.

https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/patriots/patriots-win-same-rate-vs-rest-nfl-they-do-vs-afc-east

As far as FAs lost, the Patriots have lost a ton, but almost all of them do little AFTER they leave New England, which just furthers their story.

One thing I respect about the pats front office is that they would much rather let a player go a year too early than a year too late. That one philosophy has served them very well.

Tom Brady Crazy Records

Two of the better ones.

Tom Brady has 2,576 passing yards in the Super Bowl.

*just* the Super Bowl.

that's more than 32 other no-longer-active first round quarterbacks had in their entire NFL careers, including:

Tim Tebow
Todd Marinovich
Johnny Manziel
Akili Smith
Andre Ware
Jim Druckenmiller

Tom Brady has played in more Super Bowls than any non-Patriots franchise in the NFL
New England Patriots: 11 Super Bowls
Tom Brady: 9 Super Bowls
Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, and Dallas Cowboys: 8 Super Bowls

Tom Brady is tied for the Arrowhead Stadium record for most playoff wins

Brady has one postseason win as a starting quarterback in Kansas City. So do Steve DeBerg (he beat Todd Marinovich!), Joe Montana, Jim Harbaugh, John Elway, Peyton Manning, Joe Flacco, Ben Roethlisberger, Marcus Mariota, and Patrick Mahomes.
