University of Missouri Head Football Coach Gary Pinkel will resign his position following the conclusion of the 2015 season, and he will remain as Mizzou's coach through December 31, 2015, or until a new head coach is in place, as announced today by MU Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades. Pinkel informed his staff and team this evening, and will address questions following Saturday's game against BYU at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.

A$$hole. It's hard to have the back of someone who's missing his spine. He has no friends. His detractors wanted him gone. Meanwhile, those of us who were inclined to support him think he's a cowardly ninny since he folded immediately rather than fight the PC crowd.

I'm no fan of what's left of Mizzou, but this guy crying about a severance package can STFU. When the school needed him most, he disappeared. The school has enough problems without taking tuition money from kids and Missouri taxpayers to pay his sorry ass. Fock him.

The University of Missouri has announced the closure of three additional undergrad residence halls due to the shortfall in student enrollment following the 2015 race protests. The closures bring the total number of closed residence halls to seven.

Speaking to ABC 17 News, Mizzou News Bureau associate director Liz McCune said that the Discovery, Responsibility and Center halls will close to “ensure that we are maximizing the space we have and being as efficient as possible with our resources.” Other shuttered residence halls include Respect, Excellence, Schurz, and McDavid.

Cautionary tale for state schools. Let the billion dollar endowment schools house the snowflakes. That includes faculty.

It appears that the names of the residence halls that were closed (Respect, Excellence, Responsibility, Discovery) are mocking the group of selfish student whose actions resulted in the closures.

As Mizzou Enrollment Plummets, Landlords Offer $1,000 Gift Cards, Big Rent Reductions to Lure Students

The race-fueled protests at the University of Missouri took a huge bite out of enrollment, with the student population dropping 35 percent since the fall 2015. Local landlords are having so much trouble finding students to rent their off-campus housing that some are offering $1,000 gift cards or major rent reductions, the Devils Lake Journal reports.

Who the hell would want their kids going there? I pity all the Mizzou grads and alum. I genuinely feel sorry for them.

Fock, I knew how disgusted I got at the Michigan football team seething as a few of our knuckleheads knelt for the national anthem. I know how those four or five d*ckheads spoiled my lifelong love of the Wolverines in 2016. My God, I was p*ssed. It must be 1000x worse being a Mizzou fan or for anyone in the state having Snowflake U serving as the flagship university there.

"At the forum, leaders pointed to the enrollment drop partly as fallout from the declining number of high school graduates across the region."

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA. These people are so focking stupid they can not bring themselves to even admit the problem.

Also. If there was an 12% drop in BLACK enrollment it would make headline news. So I am guessing the 12% drop in freshman enrollment is mostly white parents saying fock you to Mizzou in a way they will eventually learn to understand.

There is nothing that is 1000x worse than being a focking uofmichigan fan. Even Mizzou fan.

Little brother...LOL. The signature insult from Walmart Wolverines everywhere.

Your little brother has been kicking your ass for the better part of the decade and is now an equivalent to Notre Dame, by being over-rated every year, ESPN-darlings, and not winning a focking thing. Finishing every year with 3 or 4 losses and ending up losing a bowl game they had no business being in because the actual Michigan grads are spread out around the country and/or "travel well".

If we're little brother it makes us the little brother to a big-boned, dateless, spinster older sister.

You had like 6 good years in what 100? And only because we could not get a real coach in? You will never win another game as long as Harbaugh is coaching so I hope you enjoyed the downtime we had.

ETA

Its 70-35 wolverines.... You got a longggg longgggggg way to go....little brother.

http://stlouis.cbslocal.com/2017/05/11/university-of-missouri-curator-floats-ideas-to-curtail-falling-enrollment/ I find it funny that they will use any excuse they can find for the CONTINUED drop in enrollment except the real reason.

Also notice. If there was a massive drop in black students this would be a leading story and it would be all about how the University is doing everything they can to bring black students back.

Missouri is something like 83 percent white. They are losing white students in droves. I wonder why that could be?

University of Missouri spent $1.3 million on PR firm to fix negative image after protests

Two and a half years after the University of Missouri at Columbia’s race-based protests garnered negative national attention, especially after former communications professor Melissa Click went viral for threatening a student journalist, freshman enrollment is still down, costing the university millions.

And while Click may have been fired and kicked off campus for good, Mizzou can’t shake the negative image that contributed to the commonly used derogatory terms such as “safe space” and “snowflakes.” So the public university spent $1.3 million on a public relations firm to repair its negative image amid layoffs of 350 employees, according to a report from The Chronicle of Higher Education.

You reap what you sew. Fock 'em.

I use to feel bad for Missouri residents but now Michigan is in the same boat. Michigan State has to pay $500M for focking sexual harrassment bullsh*t.

Missouri is an easily avoidable out of state school but Michigan State was right in the wheelhouse for where I'd have wanted my kids to apply/go. It's with a heavy heart I'd take MSU off the list of places my kids will go. I'm not interested in the slightest in my kids paying one cent of tuition towards this bullsh*t settlement.

As a Missouri resident I agree with you,I don't like it but they brought it on themselves.

It would be interesting to attempt to measure the reasoning for students(and their parents) avoiding the school. I know I would not likely allow my kid to attend that institution

RLLD in the house.

There is also the likelihood that employers would be wary of recent graduates.

I don't know the specifics well enough to comment, I'm sure pre-freak show you pay far closer attention and would know better, but it's your state school and there's a certain amount of pride you take, I would think, in that. They ought to claim more than just your tax dollars, they ought to claim some affinity too.

I know with me and MSU (and scandal-free UM) that's how I feel. We'll see what becomes of MSU on the back end of this now that they've been guilt-shamed and blackmailed into coughing up millions of dollars for each 'victim'. Like Missouri, there are many other lower profile public schools in Michigan, hopefully someplace else steps up.

ouch:

https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/missouri/articles/2018-06-07/university-of-missouri-to-cut-185-jobs-at-columbia-campus

The job reductions are among several moves to balance the budget for the Columbia campus for the fiscal year that starts July 1. Details were announced in a news conference Wednesday but embargoed for release until Thursday.

University leaders cite two key factors: Stagnant state appropriations and a continuing battle to get enrollment back to where it was before racial protests in the fall of 2015.

Preliminary figures indicate freshman enrollment is expected to rise 14 percent this fall, compared to a year ago. But the expected 4,600-member freshman class still falls well short of the peak of 2015, when 6,200 students entered.

The good news for stupid white people is Missouri is now easier to get into than a Community College, as opposed to when it was equal to a Community College.
