MTSkiBum 1,594 Posted November 13, 2018 I am a fan of indian food. We go out to eat it 4-5 times a year and cook it at home around every other month or so. Not a staple of our diet, but still good. Vindeloo is what i like to get when eating out, chicken korma is what we cook at home. Although the most important part of any indian dish is the garlic naan. Cruzer 1,992 Posted November 13, 2018 Everyone that says gross - have you tried Tikki Marsala or are you just being closed minded ? Being closed nosed.......can't get that stuff past my sense of smell.
shotsup 832 Posted November 13, 2018 Being closed nosed.......can't get that stuff past my sense of smell. Wrong (and I get it). Curry ruined it for the closed minded (or nosed). There is so much more to it then the stereotype curry smell
jerryskids 5,198 Posted November 13, 2018 Everyone that says gross - have you tried Tikki Marsala or are you just being closed minded ? Recipe: In a large bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, 2 teaspoons cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, black pepper, ginger, and salt. Stir in chicken, cover, and refrigerate for 1 hour. Preheat a grill for high heat. Lightly oil the grill grate. Thread chicken onto skewers, and discard marinade. Grill until juices run clear, about 5 minutes on each side. Melt butter in a large heavy skillet over medium heat. Saute garlic and jalapeno for 1 minute. Season with 2 teaspoons cumin, paprika, and 3 teaspoons salt. Stir in tomato sauce and cream. Simmer on low heat until sauce thickens, about 20 minutes. Add grilled chicken, and simmer for 10 minutes. Transfer to a serving platter, and garnish with fresh cilantro. I've eaten this I think. Doesn't suck. Most other Indian food sucks tho.

sderk 1,040 Posted November 14, 2018 I slept with an Indian woman some years back. She was fun, super cute, and like many Indian folks here in the U.S. only really ate Indian cuisine so she had a naturally different odor to her body. Thank God I wasn't cheating on some other woman because that smell would not go away from my bed for about a month. Washing sheets was not enough.

wiffleball 4,639 Posted November 14, 2018 I don't understand those huge vertical skewer things with the giant meat stax on them. That people shave the meat off of? Apparently its several types of meat? But it looks so damn uniform like it all came from the same animal. I really don't understand that. I like it, but I don't understand it. sderk 1,040 Posted November 14, 2018 I dont think curry smells bad Especially in comparison to other ethnic food, like kim chee. Kimchi is rancid crap. Only second to those freaking 100 year old eggs in Chinese delicacies. My GF is Korean and grew up on kimchi, and yet she scratches her head at American millenials who say they like it. wiffleball 4,639 Posted November 14, 2018 Saying Curry like it's one thing is like saying peppers like they're one thing. The combination of green curry and condensed milk is actually freaking phenomenal. Sounds weird I know. But it's the basis for a hell of a lot of dishes. But there are basically as many types of Curry as there are types of peppers. a lot of people who say that they can't stand Curry are actually smelling a huge combination of things to include Curry. you know how I know that? Because nobod just cook some pan full of Curry. and, if I say Curry one more time I'm going to stab my eyeballs out. So goodnight Gracie.

titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted November 16, 2018 Whats the butter part? In the sauce? Actually, there doesn't appear to be butter in it at all. Cream though. Easy 20 Minute Butter Chicken Prep Time 5 minutes Cook Time 15 minutes Total Time 20 minutes Servings 4 Author Layla Ingredients 2 tablespoon oil 1 medium onion diced 1 teaspoon fresh ginger finely minced or grated (or use paste) 2-3 cloves garlic finely minced or crushed 1 ½ pounds about 2-3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into ¾-inch chunks 1 can 6 oz. tomato paste (or 8-10 oz can of tomato sauce) 1 tablespoon garam masala 1 teaspoon chili powder or paprika, adjust to taste 1 teaspoon Fenugreek I use powder, but seeds or mustard seeds can be used too, optional* 1 teaspoon cumin 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp black pepper 1 cup heavy cream sub for half & half or yogurt for low fat Hot cooked rice and naan for serving Instructions Heat a large skillet or medium saucepan over medium-high heat. wiffleball 4,639 Posted November 16, 2018 You guys don't understand. This whole dish was created long ago and it's part of Asian folklore. It is primarily a recipe handed down from grandmother's to particularly homely granddaughters on the eve of their marriage. as you can see, the recipe makes a fantastic knock-your-socks-off kind of meal. That way, whenever somebody says something about how homely the guy's wife is from that day forward? He can say: well yeah, she's a little tough to look at, But Her Chicken....! True Story.
