President Trump at the UN today

Recommended Posts

President Trump told the world that we're focking tired of helping people who hate us and we're done footing the bill for freeloaders. He also said that he's going to cap our funding for the UN peacekeeping budget at 25% of the overall budget.

Is there anyone that has a problem with this? Surely this has to be something just about every America is for, right? Personally, I don't think it goes far enough. 25% donated by one country is ridiculous.

But they laughed at him.

I wish we had a president that the UN didn't laugh at.

If we give them more money maybe they won't laugh at him anymore.

I think we should give them more money.

I don't like them laughing at him.

It makes me sad.

I bet they wouldn't have laughed at Jeb.

Id have to se but Id bet he fudged some numbers in the first place...usually does...and yeah, then they laughed at him

Did they really laugh at him?

Is it because he reads the teleprompter like they just invented words.?

Yes...and of course there is always an old tweet for everything.

We need a President who isn't a laughing stock to the entire World. We need a truly great leader, a genius at strategy and winning. Respect!

Agree 100% with the sentiment.

Bit concerned with Russia/China filling the power vacuum.

The UN has been pretty much useless forever though.

Trump has not surprisingly taken over the title Teleprompter in Chief.

Fock the UN

I'm generally in agreement. I mean, there has to be some sort of alliance between superpowers and you want some sort of structure around it but the UN is bad. Just, bad.

The Security Council is a joke given that certain members can join and just constantly override with a veto vote.

The UN needs to be scaled back and deal with things such as humanitarian issues and perhaps joint intellectual issues. Things like that.

There are aspects of the you in that actually do great good. And they do so relatively efficiently. No reason to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Too funny. So well deserved.

Trump tweeted the following four years ago "we need a president that isn't a laughing stock" and four years later the UN laughed in his face. This guy lies all the damn time and makes an ass out of himself so much that it's hard to keep track. He isn't making America great again, but is making us the butt of jokes around the world.

What a clown. So idiotic and embarrassing.

Let 'em.

If 100 years from now Americans are drinking lattes and watching the evening news where Russia or China are trying to teach Africans how to grow food or how to dispose of their bowel movements properly to prevent cholera or typhoid while also in the Middle East trying to prevent Muslims from blowing up each other and getting rewarded for their efforts with terrorist attacks in Moscow and Beijing, that's what I think success looks like.

Loved everything he said, 6 more years of messages just like it incoming.

If I were a TDS sufferer, I would focus on the laughing as well.

Great speech. Snowflakes would explode if they read it.

You realize he doesn't write those things right? I believe that freak with the giant bald forehead looking thing is the one who wrote it. The dude who looks like a cross between an alien and a vampire.

They're saying this is the first speech at the UN by an American president that wasn't interrupted by Applause a single time. Laughter, yes. Applause? No.

Here's the fact fat check:

G, I'm sure they'll be nothing here.

Thats not how it goes down. Theyre smarter than us, and care far less about optics than we do.

China has quietly built a rather impressive empire. They are building naval bases in Burma, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. They hold economic rights over natural resources in large swaths of African. They loan money all over the world, and then when the loans are defaulted, they grab resources.

Beijing aint interested in the responsibility part of being a super power. Theyre just grabbing sh!t.

Russia already holds the energy stick over Europe in terms of natural gas. They are now grabbing the newly opening arctic reaches with both hands. Canada is trying to hold their own. We are largely doing nothing.

It is a competition we are woefully behind in.

Losing our role as the undisputed top dog leader has consequences. Economic consequences. Strategic consequences. Im as big a non interventionist as youll find, but if you claim to be the leader of the free world, you have to actually, you know, lead it.

(Btw trumpettes, I have no real problem with what was said at the un or the 25% cap idea, so dont even try to blast me there.)

I agree with being the lead dog. The question is, are we getting stronger with Trump? Trumpettes would say yes. China has lost 30% of its stock market value this year. We are their biggest market. There is no question that the tariffs are killing them, and Trump keeps raising them. They will have to come the table at some point.

As far as energy goes. Maybe MTSB can chime in, but I hear we are pretty much self sufficient for the foreseeable future, if it goes that way. Reserves and untapped resources galore.

War is the only ?. Trump should keep on NK, although I don't them see them as a real threat. Cyber terror is where the real problems are.

I couldn't care less about being the lead dog. All that does is make you responsible for cleaning every turd world toilet that doesn't flush.

"Well, we don't want to get involved this time. The last time we gave you money for food and medicine, you bought ten new presidential palaces with it instead. Have you considered figuring this out for yourself? Fock off."

Along with what you mentioned, both of which have been massive helps to the economy.

Balancing trade

Manufacturing jobs returning to the US

Toughening stance on immigration

Removal of the mandate for healthcare

Strong economy

Unemployment

Black unmeployment

All-time high Stock Market

Record breaking consumer confidence

SCJ nominees

UN Stance - Stance on the world stage in general.

Brokering peace and denuclearization with NK

There's more but, that is off the top.

Trump is absolutely killing it, having a monster first 2 years in office. It's the economy stupid.

Will gladly pull the lever for him again in 2020. Will be standing in line early this year for the mid-terms, ready to pull the lever for the entire Republican party. I rarely vote in mid-terms, can't wait to vote this year.

I don't care what they do, just so long as they don't get any of it on us.
