tanatastic 2,061 Posted August 10, 2018 What a crap deal for him, that really blows.
AintNoStoppinMeNow 68 Posted August 10, 2018 Absolutely brutal for Guice, the Redskins and anyone who already drafted him. It seems like in the preseason it's not a question of if but when and who when it comes to blowing out an ACL. Strangely enough, the injury didn't look that bad and he was in good spirits on the sidelines. I would've never have guessed he tore his ACL last night, especially with the inital diagnosis of a sprained MCL. But after seeing David Johnson's injury last year I take nothing for granted when it comes to injuries. As far as a fantasy perspective, I think we initially see a Perine and Fat Rob RBBC unless someone steps up. Chris Thompson is still the guy I'd want to own here with this news but I'd take a shot if either one shows anything these next few weeks.
TimmySmith 2,782 Posted August 10, 2018 The ACL is not always a brutal injury, seeing it live, it looked like many ACL tears. Just a tweak, and the player knows.

Mike FF Today 607 Posted August 10, 2018 The Redskins have plethora of RBs on the depth chart including Samaje Perine, Rob Kelley, Kapri Bibbs and Byron Marshall. Perine and Kelley should get first crack at a substantial role.
Brutal Brutus 182 Posted August 10, 2018 It seems like in the preseason it's not a question of if but when and who when it comes to blowing out an ACL. I heard an average 20 guys tear their ACL in preseason every year. Chris Thompson always seemed like the best value in this backfield.
bobby heenan 60 Posted August 10, 2018 this pushes some rbs up a bit...mixon is now a solid early/mid 2nd round pick
thePRO 78 Posted August 10, 2018 Will avoid everyone except for Christ Thompson and only him in PPR.
lesjroza 70 Posted August 10, 2018 Will avoid everyone except for Christ Thompson and only him in PPR. He's going to start slow if they limit his touches until he is supposed to have a fully healed fibula, but come November if his little legs are healthy he could be blow up (again) in PPR with Alex Smith at the helm. While everybody is paying up for McKinnon, grab CT at a huge discount and you will have the better producer in the 2nd half of the year for pennies on the dollar IMO. lesjroza 70 Posted August 10, 2018 how far will he drop in rookie drafts? out of the first round? Very interested to see myself. I have one that is August 29 If yours is first let me know, I'll let you know what happens in mine. I wasn't going to touch him at the price on off-field concerns but in the 2nd round where I can put him on IR maybe............
murf74 461 Posted August 11, 2018 Rookie draft, was pumped he fell to me at 4th overall, really needed the immediate help at RB. This sucks. I cut my loss and traded him for a next year first rounder. Guice already had a bad injury history I will take my chances again in next years rookie draft

seafoam1 1,879 Posted August 12, 2018 Gruden mentioned they don't intend to bring in another back. So all Perine and Kelley in that role. So with Thompson's leg injury in this situation, could be an ugly backfield for much of the year.

envoy9 5 Posted August 16, 2018 So, for Dynasty League players, what do you see as Guice's realistic value? I saw someone traded him for a 1st round next year which I don't see happening in most leagues... Is he worth drafting and using the IR spot? What is the possibility of Guice being a decent RB 2 coming back from ACL surgery in 2019?

What is the possibility of Guice being a decent RB 2 coming back from ACL surgery in 2019? Really would like to know his worth moving forward. Picking 11th in a Rookie draft of 10 teams and we have an IR Spot- Is he a lock to get a heavy work load next year coming back from an ACL? He's probably going to get the first 1-2 touches with Thompson taking 3rd downs next year.
nobody 2,037 Posted August 16, 2018 Is he a lock to get touches? Who knows what happens next offseason? He has a full year to recover from a 9 month injury and was supposed to be very impressive this camp. It took him about 5 minutes to get to the top of the depth chart, and they said his hands were underrated. Problem is he was injuted alot in 2017 and now is missing all of 2018. I can't imagine there will be 5 better rbs coming out in the draft next year and 5 wide receivers, though. If he was in the draft next year, he still would be going 1.09 to 1.12-ish I'd imagine assuming Redskins don't add some veteran work horse or some young stud next offseason.
