Week 5 Waiver Wire:

Recommended Posts

If you had a move to burn up who would you take a flyer to be a step ahead of the crowd:

RBS;

Charles Sims (DMartin knee issues etc)

Theo Riddick/ Zach Zenner ( JBell IR candidate)

Christine Micheal ( could spell JRandle)

AAndrews ( Tenn RB situation muddled)

JLangford ( Forte to be dealt rumors)

WRs;

Brian Quick

DFunchess

Or any other ideas?

Jstew may not make it after this week if he doesn't deliver. Maybe his back up won't be much either but he will be given the chance.

Good post...I drafted Quick as a sleeper pick late but dropped him after all the healthy scratch BS. Picked him up this week with the rumors he'd finally be back. Worth a shot in case he blows up again and St Louis is DESPERATE for a decent WR.

Langford is an interesting guy. Was a fan of his in college and he's impressed as a pro so far. Not sure how real the Forte trade rumors are but worth a shot.

Theo Riddick has impressed me everytime I've seen him play but is he too much of a pass catching back to be valuable in non PPR leagues?

I added Christine Michael and have had him stashed this entire time. I've held onto him this long so I might as well wait until he actually sees the field.

My add to this list would be Ty Montgomery. Davante Adams is out and he steps into the #3 WR role in the Packers offense.

Michael, .....seldom would they have a player run with the first unit during the week, even though they have 3 healthy backs unless they intend to activate and play him on Sunday.....the question, will he see enough plays to have fantasy value.....my hunch, if you are thin at RB , quickly pickup Michael, he is the only true power runner among the 4-backs, a solid fit behind one of the best O-Lines in the NFL.

If I had to take a chance, CMike.

I"m not sure hes ready to break out quite yet, but he probably has more upside than anyone else on the list simply due to the fact the Cowboys have a great O line and he can take advantage of that.

I do think the coaches wait another week, maybe two. Teams will likely be stacking the box cuz Weeden doesn't scare anyone so it is possible that nobody puts up big numbers until Weeden has been removed from starting duty.

Sims is probably the second best guy I'd bet on.

League 1 -

added Marvin Jones

dropped Agholar

League 2- TE & DEF BYE weeks

Added Rishard Matthews

Droppd Duke Johnson

Added Derek Carr

Dropped Bridgewater

Added Indy D

Dropped Mike Wallace

Added Zach Ertz

Dropped P Garcon

_______________________________________________________________________________________

I am not pleased with my WR 2 situation in league 2. Have to pick from Andre Johnson, Rishard Matthews.

Someone dropped Steve Johnson so have a claim to grab him and drop Matthews. Now Wallace is a bit tempting to pick back up since he is the only WR healthy for Minny and I would guess they are stacking the line for AP.

How would you rank those WR? I feel:

Steve Johnson - May lose TD value when Gates is back.

Andre Johnson

Quick - I expect little his first week but could build into more as STL is desperate for a WR. What has he ever done though? 3 good weeks?

Rishard Matthews - going to lose snaps in the near future

Mike Wallace - Maybe Bridgewater picks it up

Premature drops on Duke Johnson and Garcon has to hurt.

WR Givens (now with Baltimore) might be worth a grab & go. Who else is Flacco gonna throw to? Not sure of Smitty's status, but adding Givens if you're weak at WR couldn't hurt.

Going to need to replace Dunbar. Thinking either Antonio Andrews or the Giants D.

I picked up Carr last week and still have Tannehill but after that "practice squad" story today I think I want to rid my team of all Dolphins so I'll probably drop him.

Mariota is available on my WW, I'm thinking of dumping my backup, Stafford for him for a bye week 7. I like his matchup better than Stafford's thinking ahead. Stafford is having a year.

McCown has actually been pretty decent for points in our league as well and has a good matchup that week.

RB - Hillman is on the wire, and I'm thinking of dumping Hyde who no longer seems like a trustworthy starter for RB1 or RB2 or even a flex play.

WR - Thinking of jumping on Allen Hurns he's had 2 big weeks in a row and seems to get lots of targets. He has some good matchups going forward.

I like the suggestions of Hurns, Hillman, C Michaels. I was on the Quick train and dropped him all leagues, thinking about picking him up based on how Tavon Austin has been doing. Foles like to throw deep and Quick is well suited to that style. Also keeping any eye on Dobson and eventually LaFell in New England.

I have Hyde too. Dropping Hyde is a really bad idea. He's a very good running back. Based on week 1 and 2 I could have said the same thing about Doug Martin and DeVonta Freeman, both of whom I also have, that would have been terrible for my team to drop either of those guys. Talent should prevail.

On a shitty team where the QB can't pass.

I know what you're saying though, just frustrated with him.

I have R. Hillman available on waivers, as well as C. Michael. I'm standing at 3-1 and I figure I won't be able to pick him up. I'm not crazy about either, but if based on upside would Michael be the better option? I think Michael may have an opportunity with Dunbar now out.

honestly i think if anybody is going to benefit from dunbar it's going to be mcfadden. if hillman is available i would definitely pick him up over michael. CJ anderson is just digging his grave deeper and deeper every week.

No love for willie snead? he's been really efficient with his targets and is getting more game time. I would think he would have a decent floor as a bye week filler.

Would anybody use a #2 overall waiver on Allen Hurns? Waivers DO NOT reset every week in our league, so holding a high waiver is usually gold in our league.

If you need a wide out YES !!! the jags will be behind in most games and have to throw.

I actually think Diggs from Minnesota could be a great guy to grab if you have room... With Wallace taking away a lot of the work Charles Johnson got last year deep the Vikings could use Diggs as the short/intermediate guy...

Diggs has a lot of ability and if he would have played on a big time college team (stayed home to play for Maryland) he may have been 1st round material..

He may end up being "Nothing to see here people" but there is definitely a chance he ends up being teddys most targeted wr soon and for all teddys shortcomings he is accurate so combine that with Diggs' hands and moves and BOOM!!!!

Mike Wallace has already said he reminds him a lot of Antonio Brown, and Wallace also said Diggs can be better than himself (not that that is too big a deal) so time will tell..

I like Kamar Aiken. Flacco went to him often at the end of last game. I think he has some upside. At the very least I think he's a good streamer this week with Smith most likely out. I'm takin a shot on him in a few leagues. Prob gonna drop STevie Johnsonin one league and Marvin Jones in another
