No, Stand by me would count, popular song way before the movie came out. Maybe I wasn't really clear..by popular, I meant songs that were popular on their own, then a movie came out that used them and they are now associated with the movie. Like, You Lost that Loving feeling...Everly Brothers Top Gun. Where Danger Zone wouldn't count, cause it was written specifically for the movie.

and... fock the rules - I have no idea how popular or not popular "The Gael" was before becoming "Promentory" in Last of The Mohicans - but this song kicks ass and makes me think of the movie
