Mr. Hand 482 Posted August 12, 2018 Headed there in about a week with my girlfriend. Never been there. Staying near the Marina on the Pacific side. Any suggestions or helpful travel tips? Fun bars with live music? Thanks

Bier Meister 1,512 Posted August 12, 2018 it's been about 20 years since I have been there. at that time in my life it was all about cabo wabo type places. not sure about current restaurants and bars. we dive- there is a reef about 2 hrs away. cabo is known for it's marlin fishing, but there are a lot of activities in the area: zip line dune buggies/atv snorkeling/diving sailing whale sharks
cyclone24 1,801 Posted August 12, 2018 ECO cat in the marina is our favorite for sunset cruises...not packed, great catamaran. Also in the marina is Lola's massage...looks sketch but awesome massages for like $25. Sunset Mona Lisa for a great dinner with view. Do the usuals...Cabo Wabo, pillage the community, buy a hooker. The usual.

Mr. Hand 482 Posted August 12, 2018 So get this...I booked through Expedia and tomorrow is the last day for free cancellation. I keep checking rates at other sites because they have a best rate guarantee. The all inclusive resort had a rate of $249 which was $279 when I first booked and I got it lowered. Today I find a rate of $201 on another site and was trying to complete the best rate guarantee form with them on my iPad. It was not working so I get my laptop out and the rate is now $150 on my laptop but still $201 on my phone and iPad. So I booked it and it went through!!! I just saved a lot of money for more tequila. Wow

Mr. Hand 482 Posted August 15, 2018 For those that have been there did you have an issues with timeshare scammers down in the marina area posing as excursion booths or walking up to you?
Bier Meister 1,512 Posted August 15, 2018 They hit you at the airport as well.
Mr. Hand 482 Posted August 15, 2018 They hit you at the airport as well. I have read about that and am comfortable with what to do. Don't talk to anyone inside the airport and go outside for your transportation. I booked a private van from a company with good reviews round trip for $120. Beer will be provided and I also had him add a dozen roses for my girlfriend. She loves them and everytime we travel I try and surprise her. The driver will be waiting outside with a sign. I have heard terrible stories about the airport scammers. I am more concerned to tell who is legit in the Marina area.

Definitely talk them down as you probably know. I don't really recall it being that horrible though.
