Sperm off. How long will you let your kids live in your house?

Recommended Posts

Nobody lives with their parents until they are 30. What are you, crazy?

Except the Asians.

I would let my daughter live with me for as long as she wanted as long as she was in college or working in her career. It would give her a chance to save. I'd expect her to help with bills though.

My parents brought me to the woods when I was 6 and told me to be free, worked out all right I guess.

20 Year old is gone. 22 is still here but has autism. There are exceptions. I do hope that he'll have his own in-law apartment or live within a few miles of me at least until he is in a relationship we know will help take care of... not him... but his life. There are just some things he'll always need help with as it doesn't seem to be in his capacity to handle alone.

Good question really.

I like the idea of having my kids around, but they need to learn independence at some point.

They can stay thru college and maybe a couple years after if theyre working, saving and paying student loans.

But if theyre just loafing around, and not actively advancing their careers, theyll need to get their own place.

My wife has an idiot cousin who still lives with his parents at the age of 45. Loser, addict, gambling job hopper whose parents just keep propping him up.

They go to their place in Scottsdale for the winter while he stays at their place in Chicago. Every summer they come back and do the dance about him needing to get his sh!t together and get out, but it never happens.

Not sure what will happen with my kids, but my guess is that I will find out. I see what happens with neighbors and friends. 24/25 is not uncommon now.

My parents moved before I was even out of high school, so I did not have an option.

Ugh. We made the decision to ban fortnight and a severely limit our sons screen time last month. They get one hour per day during weeknights and 2 hours per day on weekends.

Amazing how creative and active they are without the focking video games and YouTube melting their brains.

Best idea my wife has had since she hosted the geek club gang bang.

I've never had a kid......But I'm sure the compulsion to kick them to the street is brutally hard.

That being said if I had a daughter, she could stay forever... If I had a son, it would be my responsibility to turn him into a man - his ass would be out at 25, one way or the other.

I was living with my mom, except it was my house and she was the one in the basement. She seems incapable of finding her own place, even though she is 55 and has all her faculties

My daughters are well equipped to Melania some rich guy should they want to go that route, but I'm not sure he'd want to have me hanging around the house.

I told the wife before we had a kid (which I offered none, she wanted one, so we settled on one), that if we had one, we had to accept the idea of possibly taking care of her/him for the rest of their lives in case something went wrong. My daughter is now 8 and healthy... so far so good. But at least I was realistic about things.... I think some people never consider that possibility. Hell of a risk you take having kids.

I hate to admit it, but my older sister is 48 and still lives with my parents. Drug addict and total scumbag. We don't talk. I once asked my dad "why don't you kick her out and tell her to go to hell?" He said "Would you do that to your daughter?"

Yeah, I think I would. But I'm not as nice as my dad. I'm a pr*ck. Life has jaded me.

As Mike Tyson famously said, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouf. Our plan is that the kids get a useful degree, job, and their own place. First kid, so far so good. We'll see with the others who might be more challenging.

Oh, and even if they do move out, you have grandkids to worry about too.

My parents pay the private school tuition for both my niece and nephew. Something to the tune of $30k a year. They practically had the older one at the house full time as a baby, as my brother was off being a dj four nights a week.

Now my sister is having a kid. They will either need to move to a house in a better school district, or send the kid private. They can afford to do neither. Im sure theyll end up getting help, if not have the problem solved entirely.

Fun fact! Of myself, my brother, my sister, and their progeny, I am the only one to have a degree (I have two, the kids arent old enough yet.) of the five of us, I am by far the lowest on how much tuition was paid in their lifetimes.

If he takes after his father, I'd be very afraid to ogle said tail. Cup check would be in order for all before ogle :ninja:

Hell, if he pulls the same tail as his father, a geriatric three way is possible.
