Coutee

Recommended Posts

Do you guys only see him as startable when Fuller is out, or are there enough targets to go around in that offense that he can be the third option and still be productive in ppr?

He's worth a pickup.

Agreed- just wondering if you guys think hes more of a stopgap solution with Fuller banged up, or if he has value ROS.

15 targets and 11 grabs in his first game. Seems to have a connection with Watson already. Clearly a better option when Fuller is out (Fuller is out a lot), but there are signs he could have value when Fuller returns. He's a wait and see to me.

Mmm I can see him as a starter without Fuller.

But when Fuller playes is a tough one.

I’m going to say no, not if Fuller is playing, but then you will need to hedge on what happen last week when Fuller started the game but then had to leave.

Also depends on your other WRs.

Tough one.

Thanks.

I actually looked into it and I think he's going to have some value even if Fuller plays. I believe I counted five receptions and eight targets in the first half. I'm not sure exactly when Fuller left the game, but I know Coutee was involved before the exit. Coutee also played the slot and should see the field often when Fuller is healthy. The Texans don't currently utilize a TE which means Coutee is the third option at worst. When the offense is clicking, that should produce decent numbers. If you're in a 10 man league, he's probably not a great asset, but for those in 12 team leagues starting at least 3 WRs, I think he's going to be usable a lot of weeks.

Fuller is back at practice, and if he ready, Coutee's reps will be cut in half and involved mostly in 3-Rec-sets...nice stash if Fuller goes down again..period...but not a bust the waiver bank pick-up.......

I think he is a solid bye week filler with or with out Fuller. As far as a weekly starter we will have to wait and see.

I have a gut feeling he'll pass Fuller by the end of the year.

Thanks for the replay, great points.

Really I think it does come down to ones WRs.

I can see that your point makes a lot of since.

Plus given the fact that Fuller doesnt seem to be able to stay away from that nagging hammy issue.

How ironic? Now Coutee pops up on the injury report and is limited in practice with a hammy issue too.

He missed three games with a hammy. I guess all that running he did Sunday he must have aggravated the injury.

Fuller says he will be ready.

I wonder if its hammy maintenance instead of re-aggravation?

Probably the former.

i'm not buying his ability to play on Sunday, you don't get yanked from a close game and then come back a few days later and say, I'm good. Sounds too Belichek'esque to me. I may be wrong but I would guess Cole gets the nod or is 2nd in targets that evening with about 8 catches, 80 yds, maybe a TD if lucky. I don't see Fuller being effective if he plays.

For some of you who have your doubts on Coutee this week because you are waiting to see if Fuller can play, may I offer you a thought?

Coutee may actually be more effective with Fuller playing. That way, Fuller draws all the deep attention leaving the short stuff clear for Coutee, and if he can catch a ball without someone ready to hit him as soon as he touches the ball, with his speed and elusiveness, he may pile up some good YAC.

In addition, I believe he will still be Watson’s safety valve and a good one at that. Much more elusive than Miller or some plodding TE.

I hope Fuller does play and the Dallas two good-great CBs are busy with the two WRs so that little Coutee can catch passes out of the slot just like Wes Walker and Thielen have done or do.

Even further... in the first half with Fuller playing last week, Coutee had 5 targets and 2 carries.

I'm honestly having a hard time figuring out who's name is spelled more wrong? Coutee or Njoku

Wish it wasn't a Sunday night game as Fullers' status won't be known until before kickoff. Gonna hold him out and roll with Dede Westbrook at the moment.

I got him as a waiver wire add. I have no real need for him as I have a very strong wr corps of hill,Allen, evans'boyd for 3 spots. However. He looks sharp and even if he sits on my bench he is not being used by someone else and could be trade bait

Game time decision. Doesn’t look, promising. Apparently in pain reimbursing hammy....we all know how these hammy linger.

On my roster less than 24 hours before he gets hurt. This is the same team that has had the following WRs this year: Baldwin, Goodwin, Fitzgerald, Allison, Hilton.

So it's your fault.

"Coutee impressed in his NFL debut last week but may have aggravated his hamstring injury. If he suits up this week, he'll be playing "in pain," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport."

*Plays and catches early TD*

Thank you, worthless media.
