mobb_deep 917 Posted April 16, 2015 Definitely the best of the 80's hair metal genre. Sebastian Bach and Eric Knutson a distant 2nd and 3rd. From more recent bands I'd say Josh Homme and Matt Bellamy.

BunnysBastatrds 1,909 Posted April 16, 2015 Axle Rose, shitty voice and all needs to be on the top 10 list, tho, right? Axl had a sh!tty voice? He hit octaves that Bruce Dickerson and Rob Halford could never dream of hitting. And they were classically taught and trained. Sebastian Bach was the greatest front man I ever saw. Saw him many times. Voice, presence, looks, he had it all. Quick Sand Jesus is one of the greatest rock songs that most don't know. You hear him sing that and walk away dumbfounded at his range and ability. A close second is Ian Attsbury from The Cult. Great front man with an incredible voice. There hasn't been anyone close to him in decades. The only one that has come close is the lead singer from Tool. Jeff Tate would be my third.
ZeroTolerance 582 Posted April 16, 2015 Chris Cornell gets my vote from the 1990s. Freddie Mercury was certainly the most talented of all-time though.

edjr 5,547 Posted April 16, 2015 1. Freddie Mercury and anything else is just a lie. 2. Sebastian Bach was awesome. Looks, Voice, attitude. (he didn't write much though) 3. Paul Rodgers Axl rose was awful, never liked him.

I can buy the Freddie Mercury argument, but that's about it. For pure showmanship, these three blow away most everyone. It's one of the main reasons they lasted. nzoner 936 Posted April 16, 2015 holy fock, DLR? c'mon now. Late 70's thru mid 80's DLR was a helluva frontman,I'm basing that on live VH shows I saw though.

It's one of the main reasons they lasted. Showmanship? Wonderful. DLR was a great showman too. Voice matters, a lot. None of theirs even compares to Baz. That is why Freddie is the unquestioned best ever. A great showman and the greatest rock voice of our lifetime. How about Steve Perry? Brad Delp? Vince Neil is terrible and Nikki Sixx plays the same cord every song. Lee and Mars were good though.

And I saw him in concert. He's not as awesome as you say, sorry. The three I mentioned were all fantastic rock singers in their day, and great showmen as well. NewbieJr 540 Posted April 16, 2015 A lot of great choices here. Anyone saying Sebastian Bach needs their head examined. Skid Row was relevant for about a year and a half. If he was anything special, he'd have been a successful solo artist., Or another band would have picked him up. Naming him in the top 1000 front men might be a stretch.
