According to this mock, Gurley at the 12th RB off the board is still a RB1.   A low end RB1, but an RB1 nonetheless.

Doub Martin would be an RB3 and Crowell (13th RB off the board) would be a high end RB2.

Even though Perkins is slotted in as the top RB in New york, he was the 27th RB off the board, and provided good value as a top end RB3.

For WR's Hopkins (11th off the board) would still be a WR1

Keenan allen and Crabtree & Fitzgerald (#21, 22, and 24 off the board) are low end WR2's.

WR3 bargains appear to be Diggs (33 overall), Desean Jackson (#35 overall) and Devante Parker (#36 overall)

Snead and Decker were also was a bargain as a low end RB4 (#38 & #39 WR taken)

3 keeper, 12 team league Standard scoring with QB getting -1 pt for an interception & fumbles 5 points for a defensive safety & 6 points for a defensive TD.

Start 2 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Kicker, one Def/Sp Tms

interesting thoughts. I think the issue with Perkins (and i like him) is the offensive line, all the weapons in the pass game and the lingering presence of Vereen. Perkins remains a bit of an unknown and even as an unquestioned starter, might not see a heavy workload anyway.

Allen, Crabtree and Fitzgerald are all great values. Crabtree probably most of all due to not being too old or too injury prone.

Hopkins likely deserves to still be a low end WR1 with Brock gone and a Clemson QB in tow. Hopkins is still extremely talented and you kind of have to look at last years numbers and say that is a worst case scenario. Primed for a bounce back year, IMO.

Stuck in the process.....

I agree with most everything you said.   but I have to think any RB who is the clearcut starter (even on a crappy team) should be at least an RB2.

either way, the guy who got him got a great deal and good for him.   There is usually a couple of good players who slip through the cracks in almost every draft and he may be one of those.  Not really a high profile guy and wont catch a lot of headlines.   I figure hes good for 60-80 all purpose yards a game and maybe a TD.   There is some upside there, but (like you said) its tough to say how things will shake out in New York.

again I like Perkins, I own him in a dynasty. I just wish the Giants had done more to address the offensive line. Instead they beefed up the pass game and added more mouths to feed. They will still deploy a run game, of course, and perhaps the additions at WR and TE help open up running lanes but I just get this feeling the run game might be a bit of an afterthought.

still I do think Perkins can/should get drafted a little higher
