HUGE turnout. Well over a hundred folks. Gamestop had a midnight launch for this game, which is the biggest game of the year for both systems.

 

Only had five door prizes. MY ticket was drawn for a door prize so I was able to get my son a Destiny T-shirt too.

 

He focking loves it when we do this. He gets to stay up super late and it is pretty neat getting this shtt at these midnight launches.

 

How cool is that trailer?? I about shtt when I saw it and heard that song playing with this brand new game.

He bought it with his Birthday money tool. He was supposed to get an XBOX one, however, everyone but my parents focked him over on his Birthday, so all he could afford was this one 60 dollar game. He will never get an xbox one now, since most folks stiffed him for his birthday. Of course I can not afford to buy the damn thing. Hell, I was lucky to even have the gas to drive him there to get the game last night. Thanks for the heads up. Go ahead and take over my team now then. It's been fun.

HA. I make him go to bed at 9:30 every night and last night I let him stay up till 1:00 a.m. I only let him do this one in a great while. Last time was the Halo 4 launch.

 

As far as fantasy football is concerned, he has ZERO interest. I have already tried to get him to play a few times. In one of my local leagues, another guy that has played for decades has a daughter that comes to the drafts every year and helps her dad draft. Last year, we gave her her own team when someone left the league.

 

BOTH of my local leagues, along with every league I am in with the exception of the DNDL are FREE before EDJR comes plowing in here humiliating himself again. I actually kick so much ass n these two local leagues, THAT is how I always paid my DNDL league fees. They went free a few years ago and my money train ran dry.

I informed the league a few years back when my money train ran dry that I would have to leave. These guys are my friends and offered to pay my league fees each year since. I would never intentionally fock someone over like that and feel pretty rotten each year over the fact that I can not pay.

Yep. He asked me several times to let him stay home since it would just be one day missed. I told him no freaking way. I also told him if he went to school and then just went to the nurses office trying to come that way, I would take the game from him for 3 months.

So the reviews on this game have been pretty horrific. I am about 16+ hours in myself. I think its a solid game with a lot of potential. Everyone is just butt hurt because the hype was so big.

 

Most big time MMOs require $15/month to gain access to the game. This game doesnt charge a monthly fee. Plus new content will be coming out soon. I like it and think there are plenty of douchy people unfairly rating the game. I am on 360 btw.

I assure you that the game is completely different after you hit level 20! The story (hah!) missions and grind to 20 can put a lot of people off. The 15-19 area is where I liked to PvP to gain my levels as the Cabal on Mars are bastards if you go in at even or lower levels. Couple tips for getting quick light level (21+)...

 

1) Bounties, Bounties, Bounties! They are good exp and vanguard reputation is really important for getting your first pieces of gear. Don't switch to another reputation until you hit Rank 3. At Rank 3 you get a free, random legendary item. Switching over to Guardian Subclass may appeal to you but it's hard because you have to gain more experience to fill out those skill trees. Bounties help here too. Switch to Guardian (and equip any items you need to level) before turning in bounties and the experience applies to them!

 

2) Public Events! destinypublicevents.com provides fairly accurate times and locations for these events. The green ones on the website you can count on. Some events don't hit until -5 Minutes on their timers so stick around! The orange and red are more rare. You get Vanguard Marks (for purchasing gear), the possibility of legendary materials (for upgrading legendary gear), and reputation rewards.

 

3) Strikes! Once you hit 20, jump right in! This is the fastest way to get starter gear (level 18-20) blues with light rating on them. You also get marks and reputation.
