lol. Yeah..I just ignore that chit (anonymous a$$hats on the triple-dub don't bother me) and try and look through the crap to get their opinion. Some people just have a hard time expressing their feelings. It's a maturity thing, ya know. Already done (see a couple of posts up)

I think a deadline shift is the easiest way to solve this. Week 9, as mentioned. Reason being is that we have that damned Toilet Bowl thing, which potentially encompasses a lot of teams mathematically out of the big playoffs.

I have seen the error of my ways, and edited rosters to let the original trade go through. Only for the simple fact that we have no rule in place to prevent this. It's been my history over the last 8 years or so to let all trades go through. League is competitive, and has never had any problem with any crap. We've already started discussing moving the trade deadline up a couple of weeks to help alleviate this scenario in the future. To the guy that mentioned the possibility of team #11 making the Toilet Bowl. You should see the rest of his roster...no way in hell (especially now that he's got Flacco) Thanks again guys, for the advice.

Where da'phuck do you get that from? I've never stated anywhere that I was looking for justification. I answered a question posed as to who the players involved were, as you'll note, I didnt bring that up in the OP, as to me, it's rather irrelevant. I'm completely open to the fact that I may have made an error. But defo am looking for opinions as to whether teams out of the playoffs, and with hardly anything to gain should be making trades to teams in the hunt. If nothing else, as to set it in stone for next season. Anyhoo, despite your piss-poor assumption, your opinion is appreciated as to how I should handle this.

Fair enough, thats the type of opinions I'm looking for here.

Lol...we do have a deadline, it is today, but this current trade was proposed before yesterday afternoon sometime, and is now hanging, awaiting approval. It's not so much of whether too much value is being put on the Bears D, it's a matter of letting a team thats out of it make a trade that impacts the playoffs (this is why I didnt go into player particulars in the OP, as it's really irrelevant), and setting a precedent. As to the apology, not gonna happen, as almost the entire league agreed with the decision, except the 2 originally involved.

Team 11 had 2 QB's, Rothlisberger, (who's probably going to miss just this week) and Eli Manning. I agree, on paper, the trade is fair... and believe I would have had no issue at all had it been done before team 11 had been completely eliminated from the playoff money. By getting Dalton, Team 11 would be (based on pt avg) gaining 6 points/week @ the QB slot over Manning (Team 11 already dumped Rothlisberger to the WW), BUT, team 11 now has to go grab a scrub D off the WW, and the highest one available is the Chargers D, which is averaging just under 10/game. While trading away the Bears D, which is averaging 16/game. So essentially, a wash trade for someone completely out of the playoffs.

Yeah, thought about going into the nitty gritty, but wasnt sure if it would help. Here goes: On the first vetoed trade Team #11 gave Bears D (the highest scoring D in our league by 40+ points, and also the highest scoring "player" slot on team #11's roster, AND team #11 would have to go to the WW to pick up a sub-par defense.) Team #1 gave up Flacco (keeping in mind that team #11 already had Eli on his team, who granted has crapped the bed last couple of weeks) Now, the 2nd trade which is still in limbo: Team #11 again gives up Bears D Team #5 gives up Dalton On paper, the 2nd trade is more balanced...but to me, that really isnt the point here. And I honestly can't see why Team #11 i so hell bent on getting another QB when he has no shot (albeit, we do have a weekly $10 high score payout) EDIT: FYI, using our scoring system here's the avg/game Flacco 17.4/game Bears D 16/game Dalton 21.2/game Eli 15/game

Just the simple facts here, looking for advice. 12 team redraft league, 14 game reg season, 2 week playoff. Typically around a $1600 end of season pot. Top 4 make playoffs (40-25-20-15 split), middle 4 make Toilet Bowl ($50) Bottom 4..better luck next year. League in it's 14th year (give or take 1). I've Commished for the last 9. Unfortunately, no written bylaws in place. LM only vetoes. Records as they stand today: 1. 8-3 W2 2. 8-3 L1 3. 7-4 L3 4. 7-4 W5 5. 6-5 L2 6. 6-5 W4 7. 6-5 W1 8. 5-6 L1 9. 4-7 W1 10. 4-7 W1 11. 3-8 L3 12. 2-9 L1 Team #11 has been obviously eliminated from the playoffs, and virtually eliminated from the Toilet Bowl. Team #11 had accepted a trade from Team #1 which would have significantly improved Team #1, and did nothing but hurt Team #11 (based on avg point-per-game values). After discussing and getting input from the rest of the league, I vetoed trade for two reasons. #1, it was a bad trade, and more importantly, Team #11 was influencing the playoffs, when he has absolutely no shot in hell. Team #11, and Team #1 are pissed...oh well, they'll get over it. Now, methinks just for spite..Team #11 has accepted another trade (involving the same roster slot) from Team #5. On paper, pretty much an even trade as far as potential point-per-game values go. But once again, significantly helping a team in the thick of the playoff hunt, while not really improving his team, just breaking even. Again, Team #11 is influencing the playoffs when he has no shot at all. I really don't understand his logic in this crap. Collusion is not suspected. IMO, he's just being a selfish, and not taking into consideration what he's potentially doing to the top 7-8 teams that still have a viable shot at the playoffs. So my quandary is: 1. Do I let this move go through, and perhaps affect the playoff scenario? Until the first trade, in 9 years, I've never had to veto. As mentioned, unfortunately we don't have any by-laws. 2. Do I stick to my guns, and the reasoning behind the vetoing the first trade (with the support of the rest of the league), and veto this one too, in order to keep the integrity of the league, and the playoffs sound. I'm inclined to go with option #2, in order to be consistent. But I wanted to pose this to knowledgeable outsiders, with no vested interest at all in this league, for opinions as to whether I'm doing the right thing. FYI, for full disclosure...I'm team #7. Just lost McGahee for the year, and most likely, any reasonable shot at the playoffs, as the rest of my squad has been inconsistent, at best, over the season. Thanks in advance for any input.

    How many of you

True dat. However, with The Ticket, I tend to avoid most of the ads. Edit: Although I am amazed at times, as to how I can have 10 games at my fingertips, and almost every focking one of them will have a ad on at the same time (not during halftime)

    How many of you

I was actually thinking about this during the drive to work this am (yeah, I'm a bit bye-focked this week in one league). What I'd like to see, not only from a FF prospective, but also a NFL prospective would be for the entire league to take a Sunday off at the same time. Not only would that make the FF a little easier to manage/draft....but also would be fair to the NFL teams. I might actually get off my arse and accomplish something on 1 Sunday during the football season if they would do this. The NFL instituted bye weeks in 1990. In 1993 each team had TWO byes Thank God that was just a 1 year experiment....

Why do owners propose ridiculous trades?

Just this week, asshat offered me Mendenhall for Newton (I've got Bradshaw with an injury, and MJD on a bye), so he thinks I must be really desperate.

Spinoff - Phrases that should be banned from life

The fucknugget suits at my plant: "I'll download this information to you later on" (when technically speaking, it should be upload) And yeah, as previosly mentioned "Let's take this offline" WTF...we're people, not computers.

Fun things you do in your league?

A couple of things I do: 1. Weekly high score prize ($10) 2. A "Spank of the Week" (player who get's his a$$ kicked the worst get's a nice little mention). 3. We also have a "League Beeeotch" this is the team with the worst record. This GM of this team get's his picture on the homepage, with some type of humorous caption inserted in the picture. 4. We also have weekly hype for each match-up. Another league member writes it. I'd link ya to my league page...but one of the other things I do is, of course, put up a babe of the week, and methinks the powers that be in this forum wouldnt appreciate it.If interested in having a look for some ideas, pm me.
