How do u decide when it’s between a couple players?

Recommended Posts

I know most people try to take in all the factors when making their decision, but wondering if anyone uses some sort of personal formula. Something like Deciding (1-10) on certain categories such as ability, opportunity, opponent, weather, etc. got a lot of options this week

I factor in these variables: defense they are up against rankings vs. position, a couple different websites rankings (if there is a huge gap then I dont overthink it), opportunity (what is the supporting cast like), and just a feel for how the game is going to play out.

Had the choice between Ebron and MacDonald this week. Figured there werent many other options rather than Ebron so I chose correctly.

Have the choice between 2 of the three: Corey Davis, Alshon Jeffery, and Mike Williams. Pry gonna sit Jeffery bc of match up. Heard he was going to be shadowed by Xavier Rhodes.

Yeah that’s exactly what i’m Talking about. But did want to know if people are taking these different factors and basically weighing them all evenly or valueing certain factors over others percentage wise.

I value match up and opportunity equally. Talent above all. Start your studs then the other factors with tougher decisions. No formula. More just a gut feeling if it is extremely close.

My method is, I look at how the opponent played vs the position the previous two weeks, weighed against the average opportunities per game over the same period for the guys I'm comparing, and then pick the wrong one.

Yep, pretty much sums up my process too. If you need a sure-fire way to start the better player, choose whoever I'm NOT starting.

Tell you what. You tell me the players you're trying to decide on. I'll pick whichever one or ones I think will produce. That will be your queue to put the ones that I wouldn't had started in your lineup.

Moral of the story: If I bench them, they will score.

Just go with Vegas and the player in the game with the highest o/u if all factors are similar. Or just act like you are picking QBs instead and go with the better QB that will be commanding the players offense. That’s what determines 90% of an NFL teams success anyway.

First I look at the matchup. Then I look at their health. Then I look to see the CBS projected points. Then I do the opposite.

Great suggestions here.

When all else fails you can go to this Fantasy website called FANTASYPROS.com and they have a link “Who should I start.” You enter the two players names and they will show you which player has a higher rating for that week based on ratings from about 100 “experts.”

For example, i used Golladay cs. Breida, and it said, Golladay 70% Breida 30%. Therefore, 70% of the experts have Golladay projected to score more points than Breida.

Cheers.

If I'm between two players I just Google Image search for their girlfriends. I go with the guy who has the uglier chick. This method has proven correct 83.6% of the time.
