This is where you have to be really really careful... anyone seeing something in the totality of the the video can armchair quarterback. The question is... was it reasonable in that given point of time... he see's the murder suspect vehicle... starts following it... lights them up with this overhead lights... and they start taking off.... then start shooting at him.
Now... what would you do? You have to pursue.... what unfolds after that did so in 4 freaking minutes... 4! From start to finish.... such a short short time to make those life or death decisions from being shot at numerous times...
It's something that's really unfair to judge if you're not right there inside... or have been.... or know exact policies... etc....
Not defending... just giving my feels on it.
I agree and thats what leads to reviews and added training for situations.
It may have been the only way and thats fine. There are legit concerns with high speed chases and especially shooting like this where the safety of the public gets weighed.
And I think most can agree that is what will be done.
None of which is defending the criminals.
