Tiger Woods withdraws from Genesis and Honda due to back spasms

Recommended Posts

Tiger pulling out and not with a perkins waitress.

Tiger Woods announced Friday that due to ongoing back spasms, similar to what he experienced in Dubai, he will be unable to compete in the Genesis Open and The Honda Classic.

"My doctors have advised me not to play the next two weeks, to continue my treatment and to let my back calm down," Tiger said. "This is not what I was hoping for or expecting. I am extremely disappointed to miss the Genesis Open, a tournament that benefits my foundation, and The Honda Classic, my hometown event. I would like to thank Genesis for their support, and I know we will have an outstanding week."

Tiger is expected to travel to Los Angeles to attend and support the PGA TOUR event. His possible playing schedule after Honda will be determined at a later date after his back is reassessed.

What a muff.

No need for panic, all part of the master plan - he will be there, in the final group, Sunday at Augusta....

At least this jackass didn't wait until the Monday, week of the tournament I guess.

I respect thr fact that he's taking weeks off. As I said before, withdraw and then play right away is a poor optic so good for him

Absolutely mind-boggling that this guy can't stay healthy. With the HGH argument or not, TW was the most fit golfer on the planet for a while and now he can't swing a club. Fred Couples' back has been focked for 20 years now and he still is able to play. Really blows my mind.

Backs can be tough, did a number on Larry Legend.

That's too bad, hope he gets better and can return to his former self, he was great for the game.

It's crazy to a degree but tiger also overdid it. He bulked up more than a golfer should and pushed himself more than was needed. The whole marine mentality complex he had-has.

I get that. Could easily see that happen with J. Day down the road as well. He swings like a focking lunatic and he's gotten a lot bigger as well. Be a shame if it got to the point where he couldn't move enough to fock his hot-ass wife. Although if he needed it I could be a stand-in

The next time he might be relevant again is when he is banging Bill Knapp's waitresses on the Champions tour.

TW could have an ultra-modern, healthy, bionic back - and it still wouldn't matter for shiit.. He's lost it, it's gone - and it's not coming back... All this back stuff, as I'm sure it is troubling, but it's an excuse he gets to throw down for the sheep to eat up. As if a healthy back would matter at all - that's a pipe dream.

Tiger is done at 41, has been done since 39.

Tom Brady is 39 and looking for a new contract

It's not his back people. It's his head. He's a complete mental case now. And also a pu ssy.

Yep. He has Sarno big time. It is so obvious. I wonder how much he'd pay me for sending him Sarno's book and curing him. :dunno:

I thought he faked it and pulled out in Dubai because he didnt play great on Thursday?

Still plausible. As some have mentioned it could just be mental.

But if you read what I wrote in this thread I said I am glad that he is actually pulling out of these events and that he didnt in fact pull the old "ouch my back.. Oh I'm good to play in the next event"

Like him or not, he doesn't deserve this kind of media attention. It's making the tourneys nearly unwatchable because they're so focused on a guy who isn't going to be in contention.

Just let the man play golf. He's been hurt, he's trying to comeback.

You'd think he was Aaron Hernandez or OJ or something.

Agreed. When anyone else is struggling, you don't see them on camera at all. They plastering every focking shot & putt of his out there. IMO that's part of the problem.

Fock that. As long as he's still glory hounding every payday sponsorship he can plaster his name and face and on - fair game. He brought this, and all the resentment, on himself.

Guys, having sponsors is horrible. Just down right awful. How dare any athlete have sponsors.

Nobody said he can't have sponsors, more power to him.. But with selling your name and face you also assume the responsibility of public opinion and exposure - and not just the ass kissing, bow at your feet kind.. He wants to be left alone, truly alone - then disappear. If not, get over being butt hurt if people question you.

It's hard to tell with Woods when he's really hurt or when he is embarrassed by his play and making excuses. He's been doing this act for years now. Sprinkled in with some legitimate injury concerns. I think the lesson to be learned here is that steroids and golf do not go together. It may have made him drive the ball farther and look good for all his mistresses, but the torque created did a number on his back. He got the ending he deserved in golf.

There's one thing about shooting 77 on Sundays, after making a cut and getting paid - and shooting 77 on Thursday, declaring back spasms and having weekends off.
