supermike80 1,285 Posted May 23, 2018 At 51, I'm kinda supposed to. Couple weeks ago I looked and for whatever reason, in 1993 I show $0 in income. Weird. I know SSI uses 35 years of salary history and I intend to beat that, but still. Have you ever had to correct something with them? Is it difficult like I would expect a gubbermint agency to be? I assume the number was based on income tax returns. Maybe let the sleeping dog lie.

edjr 5,547 Posted May 23, 2018 96 wasnt a very good year I bartended only. I asked them to write me a check so I could file taxes. The other money for those years, was from working at a sporting goods store

I remember they had me mixed up with another person. Can't remember how I found that out but I did. So she (her name was Hazel) got my income for 1993. Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted May 23, 2018 AT 62 I'll get $2,000+ a month. At 67 I think it's $2,800+ a month and at 72 it's like $3,200 a month. I'm retiring at 62 though.

Retiring at 62 sounds great until you realize the cost of health insurance eats up your savings in a blink of an eye.

supermike80 1,285 Posted May 23, 2018 Ok, so you knew why then. I was assuming you didn't understand why it stated 0 income. I made income in 1993, but it was reported to SSI from the IRS that I did not. So yes, I don't understand why SSI has it as making no money in 1993

Yes, I'd get it fixed. It will be a pain in the ass likely but worth the effort in my opinion.
