College fantasy football league

Recommended Posts

I ran a league in 2004 that was quite enjoyable and former members have asked to revise the league (which was shut down after one season last time due to time restraints). We're looking to get as many owners as possible. There is no real limit. Before we tried to get 48 to fill four conferences of 12 teams. We ended up with 20 to fill three conferences.

Send e-mail to kodeysdad@yahoo.com if interested.

College Fantasy Football 2K7

Teams: TBD

Conferences:

A) East -- ACC, Big East, Independents

 South -- Southeastern, Conference USA, Sun Belt

C) Midwest -- Big Ten, Big 12, MAC

D) West -- Pac-10, Mountain West, WAC

Season: 11 weeks long, starting Sept. 1 and running

through Nov. 10.

Bowl games: Week 13, there would be 6 bowl games --

Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, Orange, Gator, and Cotton.

-- Each conference, just like in real life, will have

a partnership with certain bowls, but the final

decision on which team going to that bowl game from

that conference will be determined via a vote amongst

owners from the conferences not involved. The national

championship game will be decided by which teams are

ranked atop the Top 10 poll. The other 'BCS' bowls

will be determined by a vote, amongst the teams

eligible to play in it. Certain bowl games will have

certain conference tie-ins, if at all possible. (Ex.:

Rose Bowl would be Pac-10 (West) and Big Ten

(Midwest).

-- Teams must have at least 6 wins to be eligible for

a bowl game. If for whatever reason there are not

enough teams with six wins, a vote will be held to

determine which of the next tier of teams will secure

a bowl bid.

Top 10 poll: Each week, owners/coaches will vote to

make a Top 10. Voting will take place on Sunday and/or

Monday following that weekend's games. The poll will

be released either late Monday or early Tuesday. The

preseason poll will come out after each team in their

respective conferences vote for their own preseason

poll.

Game results: Since there is no such Web site that I

know of that can handle the undertaking of these stats

for these games, each game WILL be tabulated by the

teams involved in that game. Furthermore, the

commissioner of that conference is responsible for

tabulating each games results for that week, as well.

In case of a discrepency in the scoring, the

commissioner's decision is final.

Roster:

QB: 2

RB: 4

WR: 4

TE: 2

PK: 2

DEF: 2

-- Each team will also have two red-shirt positions.

Players placed in these positions cannot be used

during the season. They are ineligible. They, however,

would be available for the next season.

-- Teams will also have two injured reserve slots.

Players placed on IR are out for the season, but can

be replaced by a free agent.

-- Trades are not allowed. This is college football.

-- This is a DYNASTY LEAGUE. You keep your player as

long as he is in your respective conference. (Ex.:

Southern Cal's Matt Leinhart would stay in the West

Conference until he graduates or transferred to a

school not in the Pac-10, WAC or Mountain West.)

Draft: The draft will begin the first or second weekend in

August. The drafts will be held on a message board.

There will be a time limit per pick of 12 hours. If

the allotted time for a pick runs out, that pick is

skipped and the next player picks. The skipped pick

may then be made whenever the owner can make it. The

first year will be a serpentine draft with each

following year's draft going in order each round based

on the previous year's finish from worst to first. The

number of rounds in future drafts will be determined

based on how many players are needed to fill each

team's roster.

Scoring: Will be basic fantasy football scoring.

TD passing: 3 points

TD rushing: 6 points

TD receiving: 6 points

Passing yards: 1 point for every 20 yards

Rushing yards: 1 point for every 10 yards

Receiving yards: 1 point for every 10 yards

Two-points: 2 points for each -- passing, rushing,

receiving

Field goals: 3 points

PATs: 1 point

Defense: TD -- 6 pts.; Sacks: 1 point; Interception: 1

point; Fumble recovery: 1 point; Safety: 2 points.

There will be NO home-field advantage points.

Tiebreaker: Each team must submit an overtime player

to break all ties prior to the start of their games.

If that doesn't break the tie, the game will remain a

tie, including postseason.

Links: Web sites that will be used as reference points

for the league include ESPN, USA Today, NCAA,

NCAASports, and conference/school Web sites.

Awards: Heisman Trophy, All-America team, Davey

O'Brien (top QB), Butkus (top defense), Doak Walker

(top junior or senior RB), Biletnikoff (top receiver),

Groza (top kicker)

Bump.

Great reply so far, still looking for more. Keep 'em coming. Up to 18 or so now. Would like to get to at least 20, if not more.

Whynotme, send me another e-mail so I can verify your e-mail address and name, and to keep an accurate head count.

Also, if grateful parrot is interested I need an e-mail as well verifying interest, name and e-mail address so that I can put it on file.

Thanks
