TD Ryan2 314 Posted September 16, 2016 I've never seen Bill Murray or John Candy stand up routines. They are SNL / TV / Movie personalities to me more than "stand up comics".

TD Ryan2 314 Posted September 16, 2016 Also have to put Pryor on the black guy list. he's on my "Godfathers" list - just moving him to Black Guys is a demotion (and racist).

tanatastic 2,061 Posted September 17, 2016 Carrot Top Somehow, someway he is among the most lucrative comedians. #25 worth 75mil it says. I have never seen his act or anything about him other than mockery or him looking like a crazy roid freak. No freaking clue how he makes so much money. wiffleball 4,638 Posted September 17, 2016 This. And Buddy Hackett. Major Kudos. Him and Rickles were the only two who could crack Johnny Carson up. That's a badge of honor. Buddy Hacket was fricking hysterical. The fact that Rickles is still around and sharp as he is , is a phenomenal.

One of the greatest comedians ever. Dirty as Foxx was.
wiffleball 4,638 Posted September 18, 2016 I have to admit, I missed at least one : Anthony Jesselnick. I get that many people hate the guy- but they hate him mostly because he blows WAY past the line. He friggin cracks me up. Horrible horrible jokes - so funny you have to laugh. Just my opinion. TD Ryan2 314 Posted September 19, 2016 Bill Cosby's old-school standup - it was clean and funny and I loved it as a kid. Today, do you introduce your kids to Cosby's comedy now that you know he's a druggin-rapist? I haven't... and I don't think many will. I purposely left him off all my "lists". We loved Cosby, knew it by heart before we discovered Carlin and Pryor. I think I would nothing but blank stares from my kids rapist or not. Jonathan Winters should be on the Godfathers list. wiffleball 4,638 Posted September 19, 2016 only thing I ever liked the cos in was Dr Huxtable, that's it Nah, his old comedy records were classic as a kid. You know who we've completely forgottent? Bob Newhart. His old routines were absolutely brilliant - and still work to this day. Also - Buddy Hacket and Don Rickles. Geebus, those guys used to crack Johnny Carson up - and that wasn't easy. I mean, if we're really talking Rushmore-esque.
TD Ryan2 314 Posted September 19, 2016 We loved Cosby, knew it by heart before we discovered Carlin and Pryor. I think I would nothing but blank stares from my kids rapist or not. Jonathan Winters Cosby and Jonathan Winters were favorites of mine as a kid. Sneaked a listen to some Don Rickles... cough a glimpse of Richard Pryor lighting his hair on fire... but I was in middle school... then Eddie Muphy "Raw" and Dice came out... hooked on comedy at that point. When I was really young, Winters would make guest appearances on TV shows (Happy Days, Mork, etc) - loved it when that happened. But Eddie and Dice amped it up a notch... I got in trouble for listening to Eddie and my Uncle couldn't keep a straight face when I played it for him.
