Why are gas prices up?

Recommended Posts

Usually a heavy travel weekend or a hurricane in the gulf and prices will spike.

I get it, supply and demand.

Nothing really going on and gas is up 50 cents. WTF

Maybe because oil is trading in the mid 60 $ range? Also, I've had a great run with my oil stocks as of late. About time as I've been sitting on them for a long ass time. Here's to $90 oil and $4 gas.

A great philosophy.

If you can't beat em, join em.

I own mineral rights on several properties. When the price at the pump goes up so goes my monthly check too.

I've got some in the Bakken. They've done test wells on the property but haven started production wells yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Continental Resources needs to get off their asses and get drilling.

Marcellus play here. Do you have a lease? I've learned a lot regarding leases in the last 10 years.

It's on my mom's side of the family, I believe they do as she's been paid about 10 grand over the years just for the test wells. I should really look into it more as she passed away a couple years ago.

Pretty typical this time of year with refineries shutting down to change over from winter to summer blends.

Props on that call

Well....lol...Its a bit inflated. They had an approximate 4-1 reverse split a couple months back..so I now own 1974 shares averaged in at 25.65, rather than 8400 shares at 5.95 that I had when I made that post.

So, right now, my $50,633 investment is worth $78,663, for a net paper gain (I'm not selling yet) of $28,030. Much less than it appears if you didn't know there was a 4-1 reverse split.

I'm planning on selling at $50. That's the plan anyway. My initial plan was to sell at $40. Well, we are there today. But because of analysts outlook...I'm staying in.

I first acquired WLL when they purchased Kodiak Oil. I held shares of Kodiak at the time. Bought more when it fell from 90 to 20. Been holding ever since. I'm still down big on the second investment but I have faith it will go over 100 in the next year or so. I'm also heavy in EOG Resources, done very well on that one.
