Doubt there are many electronic music fans here but an album last year by an act called Earthen Sea has been my go to music for working / concentrating / in the zone stuff:

Someone else here knows who Dream Theater is? Holy fockin :headbanger:

Also, tell me that "Count of Tuscany" doesn't sound like Rush until 2:18 in, right?

Also, at 3:20 in Petrucci is totally channeling in his YYZ in there, right :pointstosky:

If you hear a little Pink Floyd in these guys it's because they were originally a German Pink Floyd cover band.

Fock yeah. Hopefully their upcoming album is better than the abortion that was The Astonishing. Pissed they're not coming to PNW on upcoming 20th Anniversary tour for Scenes From A Memory. Had to say fock it and pony up for tickets for me and the kids to see them in SF.

Also wish Mike Portnoy would come back. Nothing against Mangini, as he is incredibly talented, but just not the same. Saw MP and his new band Sons of Apollo last year in a small venue. Includes Billy Sheehan and ex-DT keyboardist from Change of Seasons/Falling Into Infinity years. Good stuff.

Prolly the most all around talented band there ever was. (Except for James  )

I'm a huge A7X honk, and after Rev died, I thought it was so fukkin cool that Portnoy respected his skills so much (yea, it was mutual, I know) that he played with them for a bit.

Speaking of YYZ, remember this little diddy that Portnoy did?

Love Gordon as well

While we're on this subject......one of my favorite musicians died 2 days ago. Little known to the masses but still.

Dean Ford of Marmalade. :(

This song has always been in my life but I didn't fall in love with it until about 7 years ago and now is my all time favorite song. Since then I've gotten to know him and their music. I wonder if I'm related at times since I have this strange attraction to this "old man". Well anyway, it's another "go to" song for me, here it is.....

Ever heard of Ayreon? Basically a Dutch guy who puts out albums that are essentially scifi concept albums / rock operas. He does all the guitars and keyboards. For the vocals he enlists different singers for the different roles. Most are from European acts I hadn't heard of before, but there are a few others you're probably familiar with. James Labrie from DT, singers from Symphony X, and Between The Buried and Me are on his latest album. Earlier albums had Fish from Marillion, Mikael Åkerfeldt from Opeth, Devin Townsend, and even Bruce Dickinson.

It's pretty cheesy, but I like it.
