Old School 360 Posted July 16, 2018 Just an observation: People are focking stooped. Background Tonight- Ryman Auditorium- Nashville Premier night for the Americana Misic series Heres the senerio Family comes in- young mom & dad & a kid under 3 years old. They quickly figure out the kid is too active- rambunctious to stay in their original seats- so they jump to some open seats 2 sections away. Kid goes from rambunctious to crying. You can hear it throughout the balcony. Someone finally yells at them to do something about the screaming kid. Dad takes the kid out to the lobby where the kid continues to cry- you can still hear her from the auditorium. Meanwhile mom is pissed and bitches at an usher who gets me involved. OS- Hi. Can I help you? Bitchy Mom- someone yelled at us. OS- ok. Whats the problem? BM- someone yelled at us and now my husband is out in the lobby. Im upset. OS- ok- but those arent even your seats- right? You are actually sitting 2 sections to the right? BM- yeah- but our kid couldnt sit still so we moved. And then somebody yelled at us because my kid was crying. OS- we could hear the kid crying from the back of the hall. BM- these tickets are expensive, and now my husband has to stand is the lobby. OS- sounds like your kid is still crying. I can hear her from here. BM- fine. You are as rude as everyone else. OS- what exactually do you want me to do? BM- never mind- we are never coming back. OS- would you like me to call my manager? BM- no. You are rude. We are never coming back. Cliff notes. Family brings small kid to concert. No hearing protection. Kid is wired up and wont stay still- so they move to onother section. Kid starts crying - loudly- and parents do nothing- other than get pissed that people dont want to listen to a crying kid during a concert. Mom gets even more pissed when I point out the kid is in the lobby crying and we can all hear her from inside the auditorium. WTF is wrong with people? Who takes a kid to a concert with no hearing protection? Who thinks 2,000 people want to listen to a crying kid at a concert? Who gets pissed when someone asks them to do something with their crying kid?

wiffleball 4,638 Posted July 16, 2018 Boils down to this. And it's not new. There are certain parents who think their lives shouldn't change one bit just because they had children. My folks didn't take us out to eat for a long time. And then when they figured we were ready? Oh holy crap if we misbehaved in any way. They would haul us out of there regardless of embarrassment or cost. They figured the people in there and gone to the trouble to pay for a sitter or whenever and shouldn't have to deal with my parents kids. Flip side, my parents didn't go out much because they could barely afford a sitter. But when they did, they paid for a sitter-and expected an adult evening. And certain parents think that they shouldn't be obliged to do that. Not my most well-written post, but I think you guys get the point. This figured the world should rotate around her and her kids needs. Screw the 5,000 other people we spend good money to see the show free of distraction. titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted July 16, 2018 I blame the venue. They should never have allowed them to bring a focking kid in the first place.

But an usher immediately removed the parents and crying child. Apparently, they still broadcast The Saturday Night Grande Ole Opry radio show and don't tolerate distractions. Hardcore troubadour 12,626 Posted July 16, 2018 I don't take my kids anywhere but places where kids are expected to be. First test is if there is a kids menu. Fair game, sorry if they act up, but there's coloring books here and chicken nuggets on the menu. Also try and get there before 6.

Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted July 16, 2018 I was at a hard Rock Concert and had good seats back in my early 20s. Parents bring their 5 year old kid front row. I can only imagine the hearing loss that kid is going to have at a very early age

I can only imagine what it's like on a poor dog.
