Baseball is better with Villains. Belle, Bonds, Canseco. But nobody wore the black hat like Roger. The only player in history to be hated by Boston and NY at the same time (his Toronto years).

Belle and Bonds were hated by everyone but their home town fans and in their locker room and some in their locker room hated them too.

Clemens, meh, maybe for a couple years, but not even close

Well, was in Fenway in 99 Roger v Pedro. Never heard hate like that. Maybe when I saw the NYG in San Diego. Eli got it pretty bad.

imagine during that time.

leaves Boston after a pretty mediocre 4 year run.

wins 2 cy youngs in Toronto the 2 years after. ages 34 and 35

wins 2 more cy youngs, one in NY (38) and Houston (41)

and NO ONE thought steroids, or accused him? well, me and a very few others.

I sent an email to WEEI accusing roger of steroids while he was still playing. they read it and mocked it

What a freakin career he had. steroids or not. legend

Oh, I knew after a mediocre 1999 with the Yankees when he showed up in 2000 and was jacked and clocking in the high 90's. Never mind chucking the bat at Piazza. What a night at the stadium. 50k NY'rs all looking at each other and saying WTF? Did he just do that?

The #1 puzzy move of all time that happened during a major sporting event.

Piazza doing nothing when Clemens chucked a broken bat at him. lost every bit of respect.

2nd after that was this.

The crowd at the stadium wasn't sure what had happened, they didn't re-play it. The word got out when people used their phones. Everyone was WTF is wrong with him??

Honestly though, I think Piazza was just stunned, he didn't really know what to do. I mean, who throws a broken bat at somebody?

:dunno:
