Spades...haven't played in forever

Recommended Posts

Crap, neither have I. Wife and her family got me into euchre and we've passed it on to our kids. Same goes for cribbage. It's nice when they get old enough that you can play for real. Sucks when they skunk your ass, though.

May pick up cribbage.

Always liked card games. Parents and grandparents always played cribbage and sheepshead. Never got into either. But think the wife would like cribbage and my dad has some nice boards that were my grandparents...

I've seen some awesome cribbage boards made out of elk antlers, etc. Never heard of sheepshead. Similar game?

Sheepshead is more like a spades or hearts type game..all cards. Hard to really describe. Mostly a Wisconsin thing from the German roots there.

To me as a non poker game Hearts is pretty competitive and cutthroat. !!

Tough game. I've lost my ass off playing this game. Deal five. Highest card is the trump and it's domination. The pot grows till someone wins. Brutal game. Wiki the rules.

Ok...I'll be the DM for tonight only.

I would appreciate a decent party of those that actually know the game, tho.

All races / characters are welcome except for Half-Orcs

I would prefer to DM a party of a neutral evil to chaotic evil. No lawful evil, please.

Also, no fukin relics that you allegedly found by searchin a skeletons treasure chest from your last DM

I was literally coming into this thread to ask you if you ever played Bourre. Yes I love this game. It can be way more fun than Euchre. Though it's been years since I have played. I just saw the actual rules state one must lead with an ace, king, or queen as trump if they have one of those Trump cards? We never played with that rule. We were taught by a Cajun named AJ/Jimbo Evans. He had a twin brother but I can remember his name. Pipefitter

I have one my dad made out of a block of aluminum.

We play hand and foot. A canasta variant. Fun game. We also play hearts just for some good bitching lol

Spades and Hearts are fun games.

I sometimes forget the rules are opposite of each other.

Another game that's a ton of fun.

With Bourre though I like a minimum of 4 players, preferably 5

Bourne is a fun drunk game with friends for sure. The up and down swings can be nuts. Like Bunny have cashed in well and lost my ass playing that game.

Yeah hearts can get pretty nasty. I wasted many hours of potential study time playing it, spades, a little bit of pinochle and bridge.

We played spades with the black dudes in my med school class. They definitely played with a lot more flair than the honkeys.

ETA no way in he!! you'd beat me in any game in which I can count cards. Spades relies a lot on your partner though, so get Iam90sbaby to set up hearts and you're on!
