Demaryius Thomas headed to Houston?

Recommended Posts

Per Ian Rapoport...

Sources: The #Texans are closing in on a deal for #Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas in exchange for a mid-round pick. They are finalizing. It’s Courtland Sutton’s time. My understanding is the #Broncos held firm on a 4th round pick, though that may not be the end of the compensation.

Per Adam Schefter...

Denver traded Demaryius Thomas and a seventh-round pick to Houston for a fourth-round pick and a seventh-round pick, per source. Trade involved three picks and one player.

By trading Demaryius Thomas to Houston, Denver sheds $4 million in cap space this season and $14 million next season.

Just picked up Keke the other day. Do you guys think this makes him a less relevant?

Of course.

It’s not going to help.

i'm struggling to see DT having any more value. he's 3rd, at best, in the pecking order in Houston - right?

How much to spend on sutton?

If you need a wr I'd be tempted to spend whatever I have left. It's hard to imagine a higher floor/ceiling player coming available. I think he's the type of player with the type of opportunity thats worth it.

Kinds my feeling. Annoyed he has a bye next week as I need help now but I gotta go for it it's been an unlucky yr to this point I need upside.

I think Thomas could really help the young mr Watson.

His ff value i don’t think is any higher then a wr3-4.

Sutton for sure. I don't trust the Carolina offense at all to make any receiver consistent.

I have the 3rd priority and am aiming for Sutton. My receivers are a little shaky after Hill with Woods, Golladay and Gabriel. Golladay has yet another tough matchup this week. Love Marvin Jones in daily with Rhodes probably covering Golladay.

In my deep league, I picked up Patrick from the Broncos. Might turn out to be nothing, but he looked good in the preseason, grabbed a TD last week, and should see considerably more snaps now. Only had to drop a backup K to get him.

Of course.

It’s not going to help.

Actually think it helps Coutee's value. Thinking Texans think he's ideal in the slot rather than wide. With thomas/Hopins there he could continue to work/be productive underneath/middle of the field.

Now of course he hasn't even done that since like week 5, but that's another story.

I agree. DT is going to clear out space big time. Its good for Miller & Hop too.

Definitely Sutton.

He has Sanders on the other side of the field to draw coverages away from him.

He also has a great schedule. After getting a banged up Texans secondary in Week 9, after the bye Courtland gets the following matchups:

Week 11 Chargers

Week 12 Steelers

Week 13 Bengals

Week 14 Niners

Week 15 Browns

Week 16 Raiders

Can't get any better than that. Sutton should produce WR2 numbers, with WR1 upside.
