It was the first hit when I googled "Illegal Immigrants by State".

http://www.pewhispanic.org/interactives/unauthorized-immigrants/

It does look like this is ALL illegal immigrants, which is why states like NY and NJ are high on the list too, but their percentage for Hispanic Illegals ONLY is low. North Carolina's is 60%. AZ is 80% which makes sense. So if we are talking Hispanic immigrants only.....its AZ 260k and NC 210k.

Not quite the huge discrepancy your condescending post alludes to, eh?

Well, it depends how you lie with statistics. In your same link, the illegal immigrant share is 4.9% in AZ vs. 3.4% in NC. That's a 44% difference in share. Add to that the 33% increase in Mexican illegals (80 vs 60%) that you already mentioned. Combine those and it is a 92% increase in Mexican illegals in AZ vs. NC. Almost twice as many per capita.

Eh? You must be inundated with those Canadian illegals. :(

How much blame do the parents get for putting their kids in this situation?

We can all agree that anyone that likens the treatment of these kids to the Nazis should be dismissed as a moron, right?

Ill cop to a rather large overreaction there. My bad.

Still scum. But nazi is a bit much.

Did they go through the proper channels? Seek asylum at the proper ports of entry? Did they break our laws? Their situation at home is not our problem. They have proper, lawful options.

Perhaps they did and were turned away (which is happening at legal points as well as some detained having been seeking asylum).

They may have broken our laws...again, that may be worth the risk. Entering the country illegally is a misdemeanor...possibly far less of a punishment than continuing to live where they were.

I think the not our problem sentiment is somewhat valid...but sad at the same time.

And legal options arent a great avenue during an administration doing all it can to lessen those legal options.

Perhaps? You have any stats as far as legal asylum seekers being turned away versus being helped? Just because they show up seeking asylum doesnt mean they get it or qualify. While their home life is sad, its just that, sad. The "breaking our immigration law is a misdemeanor" argument is tiresome and old. Its a deportation offense, weather its a misdemeanor or not. They are breaking the law. Period. Not the asylum seekers, but the others. They should have zero protection under our law concerning deprtation, no matter if I like it or not. Change the laws if you want a different outcome.

Well, you brought a generic question without specific examples of people and asking me to know exactly what their situation is. So yes...perhaps.

As far as stats, no, I have the DHS Secretary stating they are being told to come back later (all while claiming they arent being turned away...go figure).

We are not turning them away. We are saying, We want to take care of you in the right way; right now, we do not have the resources at this particular moment in time come back, she said at a White House press briefing.

https://www.marketwatch.com/amp/story/guid/A31B2B60-733F-11E8-8AA5-9E24BD525B8A

I think it goes beyond sad...I think there are plenty that is dangerous as well.

Well, its a valid argument it being a misdemeanor as there are several who make the argument that kids are separated all the time when parents commit crimes. Well...which misdemeanors force that separation?

I think risking a misdemeanor crime to get away from terrible conditions is sad but admirable as well in some instances. What would you risk to make life better for your children?

And there are some working now to change things...thankfully...even McConnel is talking about reaching across to democrats...Feinstein and Cruz both have made proposals.

Working to change things is great. No problem here. I would not risk going to jail in a foreign country or being separated from my family if they meant that much to me. Just my opinion. So you have no stats, but say "which is happening at legal points as well as some detained having been seeking asylum" as fact. Well, back that up please. You're putting emotion in place of law. What I "feel" is not relevant. It just isnt. Again, the misdemeanor is an offence that can lead to deportation, so the level IE: felony or misdemeanor is not relevant. If our immigration system is bogged down and are asking "migrants" to come back later, so what?? We have that right as a country.

Do we have the right to turn people away? What percent of asylum seekers are being turned away? What percent don't meet asylum status?

Congressman Jim Jordan from Ohio said that 80% of asylum claims are found to be bogus. So I guess we should just let these people into the country and hope they show up for their hearing. Good plan.

Yes we have the right. The others...not sure and dont feel like looking it up.

Not sure there is someone keeping stats of that these days with how they are turning them away.

Besides the point of that conversation too IMO.

Well, KSB already did a mea culpa on not getting the coyote reference. Some of us live in the Carolinas, fairly isolated from the reality of this stuff. Others live on an island thousands of miles away from illegals showing up. And yet others live in border states where this shiot is real. It's fairly easy in the first two scenarios to have lofty ideals; those of us who are actually impacted need to process a little more data.

Frankly, unless someone has lived within 90 minutes of the border (San Antonio, El Paso, Las Cruces, Tucson, Phoenix, Yuma, San Diego; or any of the smaller communities along the border) they really have no clue what is fact and what is opinion on this matter. (Or any matter related to illegals if we are being honest)

The media that is pushing this story full steam was silent 4 years ago when the exact same thing was happening to the kids (separation, cages).

A reasonable person might ask, why are they so loud now? Why were they so quiet then? The fact that this went from a non story 4 years ago (or even a month ago) to the worst humanitarian crisis in history, literally concentration camps, etc should be big red alarm for most.

And anyone who thinks these children are being mistreated is uninformed. Between half and three fourths of females brought to America are sexually assaulted along the way (google it if you do not believe me). Many of the coyotes are rapists, murderers, drug smugglers. It is absolutely shitty parenting for anyone to send their kids on a 1000-2000 mile journey with these people.

Most of these children lived in 3rd world conditions and were coming to live in apartments or trailers packed with 10-20 people. A few days or weeks in the equivalent of a summer camp (beds, AC, hot meals, tvs, activities, games, healthcare; nobody raping them) is likely the best these kids have ever had it.

They will be back with their parents soon enough. They may not get to live in the US, but they will not be separated. And they can go back to the shithole socialist countries from whence they came.

This is why Trump will win in a landslide. (video of nasty people surrounding a woman eating dinner with her husband, yelling, screaming, threatening her)

The hate these people display (and which certain fantasy football message boards are filled with) is what is truly dividing this country. Fortunately, most rational people see this sort of behavior and distance themselves.

90% do not meet asylum status.

Google the definition of asylum. These people do not fit the description .

"My country is a shithole", "my country has no jobs", "my country's politicians are corrupt socialists", do not qualify someone for asylum.

In case anyone needed more confirmation that Muh Childrens is nothing more than a desperate political distraction (IG report/testimony) and hail mary since all other options failed (muh Russia, muh Porn Star, muh Nuclear War with NK) heading into the mid terms, lookie here, guess who is back from the BLM grave:

Families Belong Together

Donald Trump and his administration are cruelly separating children from their families. But we won't allow it to continue. On June 30, we're rallying in Washington, D.C., and around the country to tell Donald Trump and his administration to stop separating kids from their parents!
Join us on June 30 to send a clear message to Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress: Families Belong Together!
Houstonians- UNITE! Join Indivisible Houston, PSR Houston, and other allied groups Saturday, June 30...

These lunatics are going to start riots and kill some cops/Border Patrol/ICE agents just like BLM did in Dallas. Good luck in November, we all saw how that worked last election.

Occupy Wall Street has already put out a handy guide on how to kill an ICE agent: https://www.westernjournal.com/occupy-wall-street-if-you-encounter-an-ice-agent-put-a-knife-in-his-chest/
