Frank the Tank 0 Posted July 15, 2006 10 team keeper league, carry 15 players all year, drop to 10 players before the draft I need to drop 5 players from the following list, having problems with the last 2...any ideas? QB: J.Plummer, T.Green RB: B.Westbrook, T.Jones, C.Taylor, F.Taylor, D.Foster, S.Davis WR: S.Smith, D.Driver, R.Wayne, K.Curtis, T.J.Houshmandzadeh TE: A.Crumpler K: A.Vinatieri Obvious drops are: S.Davis, K.Curtis, T.J.Houshmandzadeh Should I drop 1 of my QB's (both are currently being ranked at 6 and 7 amongst QB's)? Who else should I drop?
cntblah 0 Posted July 15, 2006 I disagree! I would KEEP: QB: T Green, J Plummer Neither is a stud, hopefully you can rotate and get a good start each week RB: B Westbrook, C. Taylor, D. Foster, F Taylor This is your trouble spot.. Westbrook is your best RB by far and that is not a good thing WR: S Smith, R Wayne, K Curtis, TJ Houshmandzadeh This is the strength of your team.. not sure why you are so eager to drop Curtis and TJ! I don't agree with keeping K or TE in keeper leagues, but if you must make room for them you will probably have to drop your shady RBs (Foster and Taylor). Manifest Destiny 0 Posted July 15, 2006 I would drop Davis, Crumpler, Vinatieri, F. Taylor, and one of your QB's (my preference would be Green). Use your first pick to get the best available QB, you may be able to get Green back, depending where you draft, unless a guy like Bush is still available. Frank the Tank 0 Posted July 16, 2006 We only start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K each week. We also get $$$ for top performers at each postion for the year. With that beind said...I don't agree with keeping 5 WR's, especially when TJ and Curtis are #2 and #3 WR's on their teams. Yes they have a big upside but I can pick up them or similar WR's in our draft in rounds 2-4. I also do not agree with releasing Crumpler and Vinatieri. Everyone in the league holds on tight to their TE's. If i give up Crumpler (ranked as top 5 TE) he'll be snatched up right away leaving me to pick up someone ranked around #12. I usually do not hold onto my kicker but Vinatieri is ranked #1 amongst kickers and he is now playing for the Indy offense. Much needed weekly points and possibility of some positional $$$ from him. I agree my RB situation isn't all that good, and I'm looking to improve that through a trade or the draft (I draft #5...our draft consists of rookies and all players that were dropped and on WW). I'm a little nervous about releasing T.Green over Plummer...I don't know why? Someone convince me why Plummer is a better choice...most draft boards have Plummer ranked higher than T.Green. Great White Hope 0 Posted July 16, 2006 Are there other ways to make $$$ in your league, because it seems like you are trying to keep a top guy at a position that is a dime a dozen? Without knowing anything else about your league, it is tough to give you the best answer. Keep this in mind when posting questions in the future. My suggestion would be to drop the following 5 players: S. Davis, Curtis, Vinatieri, TJ Housh (you can only start 2 and you have 3 potential top 10 guys) and T Jones. Good luck!! I am not a fan of keeping that many WR, either, but you happen to have 5 that should (and have in the past) all produce quality numbers and a bunch of RB with injury or RBBC questions. Any of your WR would also be decent in a package deal since you are looking at a trade possibility for RB help. The difference between the #1 kicker and the number #10 kicker in any given year is typically not that great. Loose the kicker. The TE position is deep this year and you only need to start one. If you think another owner will want Crumpler in a RB trade, keep him and drop Curtis...otherwise draft a TE. I think that Plummer has a slight WR talent advantage, if Walker gets healthy, but not enough to make a good argument for keeping him over Green. If you like Green better, keep him. m_ichen 0 Posted July 17, 2006 I would drop Vinatieri (no kicker is worth a keeper, not even Neil Rackers), Curtis, S.Davis, Green (Only because this is a keeper league and Green really really old, if you think you can pick up a better QB between now and next year, drop Jake), Fred Taylor (not a keeper, he's old, and he's fragile freddy ) Do NOT drop Housh, he is waaaaay too valuable to drop. He played with a bad hand all of last year and still piled up very solid numbers. Trade him or Donald Driver for a better QB. I'm of the idea that for keepers, you KEEP THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS REGARDLESS OF POSITION. You don't really have a solid #1 RB. But between Westy, Jones, Taylor, Foster, you'd think 2 of them would be start-able on any given week. Try to handcuff in your draft by grabbing guys like Benson and DeAngelo Williams and you should be okay.
Cuse9 128 Posted July 17, 2006 QB: J.Plummer, T.Green RB: B.Westbrook, T.Jones, C.Taylor, F.Taylor, D.Foster, S.Davis WR: S.Smith, D.Driver, R.Wayne, K.Curtis, T.J.Houshmandzadeh TE: A.Crumpler K: A.Vinatieri Keep one qb...who cares....I don't like either. No upside, you know exactly what you'll get. Plummer would be the one for me. He has Walker now, that will help. Green has Herman Edwards and that will hurt. WR's....Smith, Driver, Wayne, Housh TE & K...Crump (watch preseason....that shoulder injury....see how he comes along) Vina RB's...Westy, Foster & C. Taylor.....Benson is/will be the man in Chicago, I love ole Fred, but we can't trust him and Stephen Davis is gooooooooone forever now.
