KSB2424 3,082 Posted June 29, 2016 There are a few reasons for that. Few Americans died in those attacks, none were ambassadors, there werent the security lapses, and there wasnt the perceived coverup. Im not saying this wasnt a politically motivated investigation. However, a Republican's political motivation to blame the Administration is matched only by a Democrat's political motivation to turn a blind eye. This. gutterslut 1 Posted June 29, 2016 What a joke of a party. They spend millions and years to investigate something that frankly, everyone is pretty well over anyway, only to find that their budget slashing caused it. Well done GOP. Bravo. The repubs did the same thing with Whitewater. With the same results. And they wonder why they lose elections and respect of the people. I really don't blame the party leaders because they have nothing else. It's the idiots (like the ones on this board) who blindly follow regardless as if they can talk it away. We all see it. Yet they refuse to admit it. Or just shut up and move on. But they are republicans, after all.

Just because nobody is getting brought up on charges doesn't mean we didn't learn anything. But like Hillary said, it time to move on. Why? Do you think she and the White House handled it well? I agree the question of anyone being charged or whatever is over. Obviously there was no proof that woukd lead to that. But there were things brought out that certainly don't prove competence. Incompetence can have the same results as malfeasance, and needs to be scrutinized.

Hardcore troubadour 12,407 Posted June 29, 2016 Here's something that came out that I question: How come Hillary is sending an e-mail to Chelsea in the middle of a fluid terrorist attack? Can you imagine if Bush sent an e-mail to Jenna during one? Granted, Bush probably doesn't know how to work the e-mail, but still.

Hardcore troubadour 12,407 Posted June 29, 2016 Republicans are on the hook for not funding the security measures requested. The White House and Hillary are on the hook for not sending help, even if it woukd have gotten there too late. Someone might have survived, been hiding out. As soon as that fire fight begins and you are aware, you send in the cavalry. There were Americans representing our country in an official capacity under attack. Bad call. Baker Boy 1,446 Posted June 29, 2016 How do you feel about the fact that the Republicans cut defense spending and Hillary specifically claimed it would leave them vulnerable? Get your facts straight loser! Sequestration automatically kicked in when Obama failed to pass a budget. The government was forced to do this due to legislation passed by Prisedent Obama. The Budget Control Act of 2011 (Pub.L. 112–25, S. 365, 125 Stat. 240, enacted August 2, 2011) is a federal statute in the United States that was signed into law by President Barack Obama on August 2, 2011. The Act brought conclusion to the United States debt-ceiling crisis of 2011, which was widely believed would have led the United States into sovereign default on or around August 3, 2011. The law involves the introduction of several complex mechanisms, such as creation of the Congressional Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction (sometimes called the "super committee"),[1] options for a balanced budget amendment """and automatic budget sequestration."""" For fiscal 2013, the GOP-controlled House proposed spending $1.934 billion for the State Department’s Worldwide Security Protection program — well below the $2.15 billion requested by the Obama administration. House Republicans cut the administration’s request for embassy security funding by $128 million in fiscal 2011 and $331 million in fiscal 2012.... [in 2011] Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned that Republicans’ proposed cuts to her department would be “detrimental to America’s national security” — a charge Republicans rejected. [GOP vice presidential nominee Paul] Ryan, [Rep. Darrell] Issa and other House Republicans voted for an amendment in 2009 to cut $1.2 billion from State operations, including funds for 300 more diplomatic security positions. Under Ryan’s budget, non-defense discretionary spending, which includes State Department funding, would be slashed nearly 20 percent in 2014, which would translate to more than $400 million in additional cuts to embassy security.
