iam90sbaby 2,125 Posted May 29, 2017 Remember today is to honor and remember those lost at war or who have sustained injuries while in battle. Without them we could not live the wonderful life that we live today. Thank you.
jerryskids 5,196 Posted May 29, 2017 In Flanders fields the poppies blowBetween the crosses, row on row,That mark our place: and in the skyThe larks still bravely singing flyScarce heard amid the guns below. We are the dead: Short days ago,We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,Loved and were loved: and now we lieIn Flanders fields! Take up our quarrel with the foeTo you, from failing hands, we throwThe torch: be yours to hold it highIf ye break faith with us who die,We shall not sleep, though poppies growIn Flanders fields

Mungwater 588 Posted May 29, 2017 I've lost friends from college in the current wars, Memorial Day is always depressing, but the ones that really hurt are the suicides. You survive a fvcking war zone only to be so proud you wouldn't call someone if you're having trouble? Makes no sense

You survive a fvcking war zone only to be so proud you wouldn't call someone if you're having trouble? Makes no sense I had to go with a chaplain to tell a mom and grandmother that their son had committed suicide. It was either the grandmother or mom that had a heart condition so they needed a medic there with the chaplain in case something happened. That was by far worse than seeing a patient die of cancer with their family around or telling someone their son/husband died in war. The guy killed himself over a girl. Horrible and tragic. I'll never get the screams of the grandmother out of my head for the rest of my life

Makes no sense A giant way we,as a country, have failed those men and women during and after service. It gets lip service during campaigns...but never never enough done for them. Rest In Peace all who gave everything for our country.
cyclone24 1,814 Posted May 29, 2017 Thank you for your sacrifice. Without your sacrifice I couldn't have saved $700 on a new Sleep Number mattress.
Cruzer 1,992 Posted May 29, 2017 God bless those who sacrificed so much.. And a special thank you to my grandfather - he was a BU3 in the Navy, veteran of both WWII and Korea. Sure miss him.
